Art Donaldson sees your instagram story that’s only a repost of a Ethel Cain song and tries not to click his heels together. It’s not like he’s happy you’re clearly going through something, but if the story is a result of what he thinks it’s a result of… then he’ll comfort you through it however he can. With his words, his tongue, babying you in the bath and washing your hair, etc. Just getting to be intimate with you at all is an opportunity he’d never turn down.
Suddenly you’re bursting into Art’s dorm like a bat out of hell, tears dotting your waterline and lower lip wobbling. His heart lurches and leaps in equal measures, his backwards cap feels like it constricts around his head as he resists the urge to fidget with it.
“He… he didn’t show up!”
Art shoots up and gets off his bed, rushing to you and rubbing his hands up and down your arms, “What are you talking about?”
He gives you a lingering hug and passes you some of your favorite fast food that he always keeps in the little fridge in his dorm. Somehow knowing that it’d be just what the doctor ordered, you’re so lucky to have such a caring friend. You two haven’t left each other’s side since you bumped him on the first day of class, bringing a clice to life by spilling your coffee all over his polo. Sometimes you still lie awake at night and cringe at yourself, trying to assure yourself that he’s stuck around your awkward ass for a reason.
You’re hiccuping through your story while munching on your chicken sandwich, “Mark acted so exicted yesterday, and now he’s stood me up. I waited in front of the café for an hour, people were staring…”
Art eyes you from his position on the bed, crowding against you due to the size and having half of his torso glued to your back. He doesn’t giggle at the adorable way you get frustrated when the pickle in your sandwich always slides out in between your teeth during a bite, but he thought about it! He reaches up and brushes his fingers against your hair, wanting to just touch it more than move it.
“I don’t know what to tell you, he’s an idiot and you’ll move on. It’s not like he’s the only person in the world.” He grumbles, not quite pouting as he hooks his chin on your shoulder.
“Okay now you’re just grumpy because I beat you at uno.” You tease, gesturing to the scattered pile of brightly colored cards on the bed.
He’s definitely made you feel better though, he always does. You both finish your food and Art stands up from the bed to grab his tennis bag. He pulls you up too and winks, saying that you can’t beat him at everything. You ask what he’s doing and he only grins, telling you to come with him. You nervously glance around as you’re pulled to race through the halls to the court. There’s a simmering feeling weaving in and out of your tightly intertwined fingers.
divider
Art lets go of your hand to drop his bag on the ground, leaving your palm feeling strangely cold without his warmth.
You’re still not sure you should even be out here, you know that you’re definitely not allowed but Art seems to sense your hesitation because he rushes towards you and cups your hands in his.
“Hey, it’s okay. You’re not gonna get in trouble or anything, y’know that?” He chuckles, gently knocking the tip of his nose against yours. “Look up for me, the moon’s really pretty tonight.”
You follow his lead and tilt your head back to gaze up at the goregous crescent moon high in the oil colored sky. You don’t notice that he’s looking at you instead, that he doesn’t say that the moon reminds him of you but he feels like the one orbiting around you instead of the other way around. Luckily there’s not a cloud in sight, just a floating city of stars with a glowing center. Art lightly pulls on your wrists, clearly wanting your attention back on him, so you comply.
You’re not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but you don’t miss the odd glint in his eyes as he narrows them slightly.
His eyelids crinkle as he smiles charmingly, “Don’t you trust me?”
You answer with your heart, “Yes, of course I do.”
He beams at you and explains the rule of the game he dragged you all the way out here to play. It’s just like a regular game of tennis so you really shouldn’t sweat it, he says. His expression shifts when he makes a show out of being unable to look you in the eye when he tells you the special rules, knowing full well you can see him try to tamper down a self satisfied laugh. Whoever scores gets to pick whatever piece of clothing the other takes off, and the loser of the game has to get completely naked if they aren’t already.
Your cheeks warm and you gawk at him, “Isn’t it weird that you’ll see me… like that?”
“So you already know you’re gonna lose, huh? And it’s not like i haven’t seen most of it before.” Art laughs, not bothering to hide the blush on his face. “You’ve seen all of me, anyway.”
It’s true, you usually laze around in nothing but your underwear and that’s been the norm for you two. Art’s no different, he’ll change in front of you and will literally walk around butt naked around your dorm. More often than not, he’ll answer the door in only a towel around his waist and sitting on his hip bones, no matter if it’s one of your other friends or a project partner. You're constantly having to text the other because you forgot that you left your toothbrush behind. You’ve never had a chance to be embarrassed by it. It’s been like that for the longest time and anytime you’ll tell Art that your friends keep asking if he’s your boyfriend, he’ll just reassure you that you guys are just really close. And isn’t that a good thing?
“Besides, I think this’ll help get you out of your shell.”
You’re embarrassed at the reminder of how inexperienced you are. Sure, you shouldn’t have a whole thing about it or whatever, but it just is kind of alienating from other people your age to not be able to say you’ve done what they’ve done. And you would’ve been able to have some stories of your own if you could manage to hold down a date. But tonight isn’t supposed to be about you wallowing, you’re supposed to be having fun. Even if the sight of your best friend in tight fitting sporty clothes makes your pussy throb.
divider
You giggle nervously when he comes up behind you and wraps his arms around you, swaying you from side to side before moving his grip up to your arms.
“Relax, i’m just checking your form. Being close to you is just a bonus.” He winks and presses his stomach up against your back.
It’s so cheesy, the situation and the pose. But you lean into his touch and pretend to care about how he’s showing you the right way to hold a racket and all that, he doesn’t even really care if he’s being honest. It’s romantic though, and he can’t resist the opportunity to get a taste of what it’d be like to pin your body down with his weight. He guides you through a few “practice” swings and then throws a two finger salute at you as he jogs around the net to his side of the court.
It’s your serve, and despite you being very much a beginner, you get the first point.
Art stands there expectantly, cocking his head to the side and bouncing on his heels in anticipation. You honestly didn’t consider that you’d actually be telling your best friend to take off his clothes for you, but you’re new thing is taking shit in stride, you guess.
“So, what’s it gonna be?” He shouts and hovers his fingers around the collar of his polo, ready for you to say the word.
You take the coward’s way out, “Your shoes.”
Art frowns but obeys the rules, swiftly unlacing his sneakers and tossing them to the side. The court’s not so rough that it’d be hell on his feet, but he’d do it for you even if it was all a bunch of jagged rocks cobbled together. The game goes on with Art scoring the next point, and then the one after that. He has you discard your necklace, one of those cheesy half heart ones that matches with one he has, and your shoes as well. He doesn’t wanna scare you off, but he knows what he wants to have you take off for him.
You score the next time, down goes his pants. Without them, few things are left to the imagination. Every time he’d walk around you naked you’d always keep your face firmly glued to your phone or something. But being faced with the very… detailed outline of his bulge through his underwear, that’s another thing entirely. It looks so long against his thigh it might as well be a third leg. There’s already a little wet spot where the tip must be.
You must’ve been taking too long to ogle him, because Art yells at you to “Focus on the game, yeah?”
You’re lucky it’s not a cold night when he gets the next point and has you take off your pants, which are really just glorified shorts. You unfasten them and shimmy them down your legs, letting them pool around your ankles and kicking them away from you. You haven’t shaved today, but you know that Art doesn’t care about that sort of thing. He’s made sure to tell you as much many times when you complain about how much your back hurts after you get done with it.
Art takes his sweet time dragging his gaze down your legs, already imagining bringing them around his waist or over his shoulders. Your panties are so cute too, cupping your pussy so closely that he can see the shapes of your puffy lips from all the way on the other side of the court, a “camel toe” or whatever you call it. He thinks it’s so hot, but you’re shy about it, asking him to see how you look in jeans that are a size too small. He always does a thorough inspection.
Whoever scores next wins the game, and you’re too busy trying not to fall on your ass to put any effort into it. It’s not a real game away, and besides, it’s not like anything has to happen when the loser completely undresses. Out of the corner of your eye you see Art’s dick twitch in his briefs and you get so distracted that you freeze and miss the neon yellow-green ball hurtling past you. Art whoops and cheers as you process the fact that you lost.
“You know what that means.” Art grins from ear to ear. “Make a show out of it for me.”
divider
You don’t even mind the staring, it’s such a common thing that you’d be more pissed off if he wasn’t looking at you at all. The way his eyes devour every inch of bare skin and drop of sweat that you earned during the game. You pull your tank top up and over your head, leaving you in just your bra and panties. Your bra isn’t a frilly thing, you wear it mainly for support, but Art can’t seem to tear himself away from the view of your pushed up tits rising and falling as you breathe.
You…. don’t know what to do now, the big appeal of the game is over, you awkwardly laugh it off and bend over to pick up your clothes. Art shakes his head to snap himself out of his horny fever dream and races over to you, latching onto your wrist and stopping you from getting dressed again.
“You’re supposed to take it all off, remember?”
You drop your clothes, noticing that he still doesn’t let you go.
Heats fills your cheeks as he steps closer, delicately sliding his fingertips up the inside of your arm and around your back. He plays with the hook of your bra, gazing down at you with a look full to brim with unknown intent and purpose. He doesn’t do something as bold as unlatching it right out the gate, no, he just stares into your soul.
“I remember.” Your eyes drop down to his lips, and that’s when you know it’s over. “Can’t exactly do it myself if you’ve already got one foot in the door.”
You’ve gotta know when to fold ‘em, and all that.
Art softly smiles and loops his fingers under your bra strap. You have to remind yourself to breathe, but you don’t really get much of a chance to. Before you can stop yourself and think with your head, you’re canting up to press your lips to his. Art immediately kisses you back, chuckling into the kiss when you gasp as he expertly unhooks your bra with one hand.
In the blink of an eye, you’re flat on your back on the court, Art having hastily thrown his shirt under you while you were tangling your tongues together. He presses an array of wet open mouthed kisses down your body, paying extra special attention to the trimmed patch of hair at the top of your mound.
“Smells so good, ‘s cute, too. It figures you’d have the prettiest pussy I've ever seen.” He coos, dragging a lone finger down your slit before gently pushing it inside.
You gasp, wrenching your eyes shut tight at the intrusion. He takes good care of you, slowly sinking his finger in to the knuckle and sliding it in and out of you. He gradually adds more fingers as the minutes pass. Your walls throb around him, and if Art were a weaker man (like the guy you almost went out with) he would’ve said fuck it and plunged his dick into your cunt in one smooth stroke. But you deserve the best first time possible, and all the distractions he’s used have helped him be patient enough to refrain from humping you like a dog.
“You’re okay, you can take it. It’s nothing compared to what this pussy’s going to be taking later anyway, baby.” He hums and nuzzles his nose into where your inner thigh meets your mound.
As he’s languidly thrusting his fingers into your puffy pussy, Art strains his neck to lap at your ass. He holds one of your fat cheeks in his free hand and spreads you open, diving in to suck on the puckered hole between them. He sharpens his tongue and jabs it into your ass, his cock throbs when you let out the sweetest little squeals at the squelching and throaty noises he’s making. He can feel your hole unfurling with every slurp and suck, something that only makes him increase the speed of his long fingers in your pussy, maintaining a breathtaking steady rhythm.
Eventually his poor leaking cock can’t take anymore grinding into the ground, so Art crooks his fingers and (albeit a bit cruelly) jams them into your sweet spot. The velvet grip of your pussy strangles his digits like a dream, you’d take dick so beautifully. Your eyes fly open and your throat spasms around a mangled moan. He pulls his fingers out of your soaking wet pussy, smirking up at you as he sucks them try like a professionally trained whore. Your clit receives a loving kitten lick as an apology for neglecting it, and with that Art hovers over you at an even eye to eye level again.
“Holy shit…” You pant and flick his pebbled nipples, absentmindedly rolling them around with your thumb. “Are we really doing this?”
“Yeah, we are.” Art sighs, his head falls back as you duck down to suck his nipples into your mouth, the saliva you lathered them with dripping down your chin. He grabs the back of your head and pushes your face into his chest, arching his back.
“Relax, I bribed security and told them to fuck off for the night.”
That doesn’t concern you as much as it should, you’re too transfixed on Art wrenching your mouth off of his pecs and moving to straddle your chest.
“Can you push them together for me?” He breathes hard and grinds his weeping cock against your tits, mesmerized by how his precum makes your skin glisten.
“Oh, fuck.” He groans when you do, making quick use out of the delicious new friction the little pocket provides. “Thanks, honey.”
You keep staring at the tip of his dick, loving the little peek you get of it as he fucks your tits and it pokes your chin. You don’t even realize you’re doing it but you let your mouth hang open, angling your head down so his cockhead pecks your tongue at the end of every thrust. You make sure to lick every drop of pre cum away as it oozes out of him, looking so nice against the flushed pink skin of his tip. Art groans when he finally summons the strength to watch you do it, the sight hurtling him over the edge before he has the time or vocal ability to warn you.
His thick load jets out to land all over your tits, half of it on the lower half of your face. You’re almost sad it didn’t get high enough to clump your lashes together, it would’ve made for the perfect contact picture. Oh well, maybe next time. It’s amazing, the switch you’ve made from the shy friend to the writhing slut underneath him. You blame it on the honest to God sweet taste of his milky white cum, surprisingly making you think of the pineapples he always snatches from your plate when you eat at school together.
(Another painstaking effort made just for you, love)
It’s a miracle you get back to his dorm, some of your clothes are swapped and put on incorrectly and you both didn’t clean up at all. As soon as you reach the door, Art practically shoves you inside and onto the bed. He gets so frustrated with having to get your clothes off again that he just rips them right off of you, promising to take you to the mall tomorrow (or whenever he lets you leave the bed) to buy replacements. You literally couldn't care less if he shackles you to the wall, you need him to rearrange your guts so badly, you’d kill for it. Should you be having deep conversations about your feelings and what the future will look like? Absolutely, but your clit is clouding your sense of rationality and you don’t mind that right now.
“Do you even know how much i’ve wanted this? To fuck you so hard that we end up attached at the hip?” He bites, breaking away from your lips to suck bruises down the column of your throat. “We can have a baby- please have my baby, fuck!”
There’s something so weirdly romantic about the leftover scent of the court combined with the twinkling stars outside. Art’s moans and hands scrambling to pin you down so all you have to do is take it, you’re doing things all out of order, but this was always going to happen sooner or later. Art is a clumsy manipulator but he’s so handsome… you find yourself agreeing to every frantic declaration flying out of his mouth as he spears his long cock into your sopping wet pussy. You claw red lines into his shoulders and back, and Art nearly creams on the spot. The sting and the fact that you’re so out of it, you’re marking him up, are crossing the wires in his brain. His taut thighs burn with the effort of fucking you so far into the mattress.
You’ll get to cum four more times than he does, and by the end of it you’ll wish you never came at all. Your soul’s goikg to be so far away from your ruined mess of limbs that you won’t notice the sacred promises being muttered into your sweaty hair or pay attention to your phone being out on Do Not Disturb. You’ll be right where you should be, inevitably molded around the shape of his dick and branded by all the love bites that litter your body. You’ll think you passed out during most of them, but you’ll give him a loopy smile, hook your pinky around his, and let yourself melt away.
It feels as if your walls are still clenching around a dick that’s no longer buried to the hilt in them.
“I love you”’s are for early mornings with coffee and pancakes. Gloating to Patrick will be for hours before then, Art blocking him when you’re deep asleep and unable to mend the growing rift between them.

Rivington had its fair share of taverns and inns sprawled across its busy and lively streets. It was surely a welcome change from the grim and daunting sense of dread that loomed over you when travelling across the shadowlands.
As such, the group had split to indulge in some brief moments of well deserved and welcome repose before finally reaching Baldur’s Gate.
Astarion sat across from you, subtlety eyeing his surroundings as you happily sipped your apple juice.
The sun had yet to reach its peak but the tavern was already crawling with drunkards and unpleasant crowds.
“We shouldn’t linger.” Astarion mused with arms crossed.
You nodded. “I’m nearly done.”
As much as you wished to forget about the troubling matters that haunted you, it was evident that your presence was earning some unwanted curious stares from a few onlookers.
He suddenly reached for the pouch at his hip, withdrawing a piece of fabric before extending his hand to you.
“Here.”
You took it in your hand, briefly admiring its silky texture of the handkerchief as shades of teal and green swirled together in mesmerising patterns.
Then your fingers found golden letters sewn along one corner.
Your name.
Your heart was clenched tight as you traced each letter in absolute awe.
“Astarion, this is…”
He waved a hand dismissively. “Oh, think nothing of it, darling. You’re often covered in blood and sweat and Gods know what other fluids,” he said with a curt smile. “I figured you might as well look stylish whilst wiping that pretty face of yours.”
There he was.
So easily crawling under your skin with his words and now with such a thoughtful gift that fully displayed his artistry and exceptional needlework.
A lump in your throat held your words back.
Maybe he didn’t consider this gesture all that relevant or even worthy of a lingering thought, but you did.
This was a silent extension of him.
Now you’d have him by your heart at all times.
But the moment was cut short as a loud bang rippled across your table.
A man reeking of cheap mead cackled loudly at you. He was swaying so violently it was an incredible feat that he was able to stand on both feet without losing balance.
“Oi! Aren’t you that gal from a few years ago who did magic tricks?”
Your blood ran cold at once and your insides twisted into several knots.
“I don’t think so.” you said, focusing your gaze on the drink in front of you.
You didn’t recognise him, but you silently prayed he would just drop the matter and leave.
Instead, he hiccuped. “N-No! It is you! I would never forget such a face.”
Your eyes met Astarion’s momentarily as he narrowed his crimson eyes at the loud drunkard, and you reckoned he was close to intervening.
You mustered your strength. “No. It’s not me.”
But the man was insistent as he was drunk.
He banged a hand on the wooden surface once more. “What? You are the one whose mother–”
The flash of a dagger pierced through your field of vision, landing right between the man’s fingers, the blade pressed menacingly against his thumb.
“She said ‘no’,” he said through gritted teeth, eyes flaring with contempt. “Should I teach you the meaning of the word?”
The man shuddered and cowered in fear as he strolled away as fast as his wobbly steps would allow.
But Astarion had overdone it and had simultaneously caused many heads to turn your way, voices whispering as people tried to make out what the fuss was all about.
“We’ve overstayed our welcome,” he said, sheathing his dagger as he stood up.
You remained frozen in place, still taken aback by the words the man had spewed at you.
Your mind had been kept too busy to dive back into the memories of your mother, and to dwell on what had happened so many years ago.
A shudder spread across your entire body as the sense of dread gripped you.
You felt his hand nudge your shoulder. “Now’s not the time for daydreaming, sweetheart.”
And he quickly tugged at your arm, pulling you up on your feet before the two of you scurried along the tavern and earning heavy glares.
You made it out just in time as two Fists crossed paths with you on their way inside, trying to disperse the crowd that had gathered around the entryway.
“What was that all about?” Astarion asked as soon as you were able to blend in with the passers-by.
“Nothing.”
Your mouth had gone awfully dry even though you had downed most of your apple juice, replenishing your hydration level.
He stared at you, raising a brow inquisitively. “He did actually know you, didn’t he?”
You met his gaze in a silent warning. “He must have had me confused with someone else.”
He rolled his eyes. “You’re a terrible liar, but I will not pry. We all have secrets to bear.”
You nodded, thankful for his understanding remark.
There was no point in lying to him. He could always see right through your silly attempts at deception.
“Just know that you can come to me should you need to air them out,” he added. “I know all too well how buried secrets always find a way to crawl to the surface – one way or another.”
It was a glaring testament to how he had come to terms with opening up to someone else.
He had come far in that regard and you felt proud of him.
A faint smile settled on your lips, but it faded just as quickly once realisation hit you.
“Wait!” you said, gripping his arm. “The handkerchief – I left it there. Let me–”
He patted your back. “Leave it, darling. Unless you fancy starting a tavern brawl, that is.”
Your heart dropped.
“But…”
“I will embroider you a new one.”
But he never did.
There was no point in lying to Astarion.
You were very well aware of this.
He would spot your deceit faster than a hawk could tail its prey.
But the dreadful sense of impending doom had rooted you to the sofa.
This couldn’t all just be a coincidence.
By the time the two of you had reached the room, Gale and Lae’zel had already vanished through a portal to Waterdeep to assess the situation.
“All we can do for now is wait.” Astarion said, adjusting his shirt.
Shadowheart scoffed. “This is all very odd. It’s as if something is at work against us.”
You nodded. “I agree.”
“Are the two of you in some competition to see who’s the most dramatic?” he said with a click of his tongue. “Honestly, we know nothing about what happened. Maybe his contact succumbed to self-inflicted boredom – a running theme amongst wizards.”
His sense of humour would have been welcome under different circumstances, but you were on the brink of freaking out.
“Maybe I could cast Arcane Gate and help out…” you said in a restless tone, feeling nauseous.
But the mage slayer outside kept your magic levels too low for you to successfully cast a level six conjuration spell, so it was not even an option.
Astarion immediately snorted as he joined your side. “Perish the thought. I don’t think it’d be wise to do such a thing given your condition. You might open a portal to some place infested with murderous creatures, and then I’ll have to jump in to rescue you.”
Shadowheart, who had been pacing worriedly across the room, came to an immediate halt. “What condition?”
You rubbed your temples as if it would magically dissipate the gnawing headache.
“I had too much to drink last night.”
Shadowheart’s accusatory stare immediately landed on Astarion. “What did you do?”
He scoffed dramatically. “Excuse me? I am well aware that pinning the blame on me is a recurring activity in this group, but I had nothing to do with this.”
You groaned with a wince. “Please keep your voices down…”
Shadowheart rushed to lower herself by your feet until she could eye-level with you. “Are you all right?”
No.
And it had little to do with the aftermath of your alcohol consumption.
Ava.
Your intuition was pounding ceaselessly in your mind and you just couldn’t bring yourself to ignore it any longer.
Yes, she had told you she would talk to Astarion, but your nerves were being eaten raw and time wasn’t something you could afford to spare.
“I… think I need to talk about something…” you began as a shiver tore through your body.
Shadowheart gripped your knees, her face twisted in alarmed worry. “What is it?”
You exchanged a glare with Astarion who eyed you in confusion.
“I met up with Ava last night and…” You paused briefly, pondering your next words. “She made an offering.”
His brows furrowed together. “What offering?”
You felt sweat coat your palms as your heart rate quickened in distress. “She’s under the impression someone is after us,” you said, clutching your hands together. “That whoever it is might be responsible for that dead body and us getting wrongfully arrested.”
Shadowheart was now gripping your knees firmly. “And what did she offer?”
Your leg was visibly shaking now as you were finding it harder to keep your composure.
“Apparently, when Astarion feeds on me, our blood mixes together and…”
As far as you were aware, Shadowheart wasn’t aware of his deal with Ava, so you decided to hold that information.
“She’s interested in that… mixture and wants access to it in exchange for information.”
The effect your words had was nearly catastrophic.
Shadowheart looked positively scandalised and Astarion immediately gripped your arm, snarling, “ What? ”
He was instantly on his feet and you followed suit.
“How would she even have access to that in the first place?” she asked in awe.
Astarion spoke before you could, “I’ve been giving her some of my blood as she researches ways to counter the effects of vampirism. But I wasn’t aware of this!”
“ Astarion! ” Shadowheart let out in sheer outrage. “What in the Hells is wrong with you?”
He ignored her remark, eyes fixed on you.
He was mad.
No.
He was furious.
Up until this point, you had only ever witnessed him protect Ava and vouched for her integrity, but it seemed that he was no longer interested in upholding his defence.
“She told me she would tell you of this as she only recently found out about it.”
“To Hells with that!” he snarled. “Did you agree to that arrangement?”
Silence
But that was answer enough.
“You should have told me!”
You swallowed the uncomfortable lump in your throat. “You never listen to me when it comes to her!”
He clicked his tongue in annoyance. “This is different!”
“How?!”
Crimson eyes locked with yours as he scowled deeply. “She involved you!”
His admission stunned you into silence.
It wasn’t all that common nowadays to witness Shadowheart succumb to her protective instinct to the point of no return.
But you could tell she was close to snapping when she approached Astarion, yellow flames dangerously swirled across her palms.
“Give me one good reason not to blast this Ava into oblivion,” she growled with ire. “Or you, for that matter.”
He gave her a mocking scoff. “Darling, I’d love to see you try.”
She smiled deviously and you knew it was time to intervene.
You carefully placed your hand on her arm. “Shadowheart.”
She glanced at you almost in disbelief. “‘Shadowheart’? He’s out here dealing with dodgy people and putting us all at risk! Now she’s also involved with murdering people in Waterdeep?”
Astarion let out an exasperated groan. “What connection is there between the two, then?”
In all honesty, you weren’t quite sure.
Not yet, at least.
At this point, you were allowing your gut feeling to guide you, and it could very well blow up in your face if she turned out to be innocent in all of this.
However… the warning signs were too loud to ignore.
“I… don’t know yet.”
Astarion was glaring at you with pursed lips, and you vaguely wondered if he was upset with you, or if he was actually upset that his judgement had failed him when it came to Ava.
“You can bleed yourself dry if you wish, but not her ,” Shadowheart pressed in a low voice.
“I know .” he shot back.
She took a step forward, her face dangerously close to his. “Then you’d do well to remember that my respect for you has its limits. Do not cross them.”
You tugged at her arm again, trying to put some distance in between them.
“Well, this conversation isn’t going anywhere,” he said after a while with a scoff before turning around to leave. “I’ll be in my room.”
You tried to go after him, but Shadowheart held you firmly in place. “Let him go.”
It was hard to do so, but you nodded as you sat on a nearby chair.
“I know you care deeply for him, but this is beyond ludicrous.” she said with a heavy sigh.
Her voice was that of reason, so you couldn’t fault her for being so apprehensive.
“He would never harm me.”
And you would always stand by this as sure as the sun is to rise.
“Not consciously, but by dealing with this woman, he might have opened a door to great peril.”
You nodded, avoiding her penetrating gaze. “Wyll is running a few checks on some information she gave me. I guess we’ll find an answer soon enough.”
Shadowheart’s face softened every so slightly.
“Please exert caution with Astarion,” she said, grabbing your hand. “And I’m not talking about this in particular.
Oh.
“I don’t doubt for a second that he cares for you, but I don’t want to see you bound to nightmares,” she said in a whisper. “That is no way of living.”
You took a deep breath. “Things are fine between us.”
Unexpectedly, she let out a chuckle. “Oh, I’m sure. My room is next to his and… well, let’s just say that I may have overheard him mumbling your name a few times…”
“What do you…”
Oh.
“So, just… be careful,” she pleaded as she gripped your hand fiercely. “I trust your judgement, but not his… especially not after this.
You felt your heart swell with affection for Shadowheart and you pulled her into a tight embrace, almost tearing up as you did so.
“Thank you.”
She rubbed your back affectionately and whispered, “I adore you.”
“So do I.”
It was becoming more and more apparent that standing outside Astarion’s room was almost part of a routine now.
After a few more seconds, she finally pulled back with a reassuring smile. “I’ll tell the Fists outside to inform Wyll of what’s happened.”
Tumblr media
And it was also unnecessarily hard to reach out for that first knock.
You had waited a couple of hours before deciding on what to do.
Wyll hadn’t shown up yet and there was still no word from Waterdeep.
So, you took a deep breath and as you were about to rasp your knuckles against the door, a charming voice was heard, “I know you’re outside.”
Of course he did.
“Can I come in?”
A brief pause.“Be my guest.”
You turned the knob and rushed inside, clicking the door shut behind you.
As expected, the room was plunged in a candle-lit dimness as the curtains draped over the window kept the blazing sun at bay.
Astarion lay on his bed, resting against the headboard as he threaded his way along a piece of cloth with a needle, his eyes solely focused on the task at hand.
Your stomach turned and twisted in knots, and you realised you weren’t quite sure how to start the conversation.
A low chuckle was heard. “I’m assuming you didn’t come here to simply stare at me, darling.”
The lightheartedness in his voice made you feel slightly at ease and you shook your head. “No. I suppose not.”
This time, he did meet your eyes briefly and your heart skipped a beat.“As dashing as I am, I’d rather hear what you have to say instead.”
Right.
You cleared your throat, taking careful steps towards him before taking a seat at the feet of his bed, mindful to keep a certain respectful distance.
“I should have told you about Ava earlier on when you asked me.”
“Indeed.”
He didn’t sound upset in the slightest.
If anything, there was a faint hint of strange calmness to his voice.
“As for Shadowheart…”
He let out a snort. “Please. The day she stops worrying about you is the day I’ll find her in a casket.”
You couldn’t help out a short chuckle as he was absolutely right.
Still, you laced your hands in your lap, absentmindedly fidgeting with your fingers. “I…” you began, before drifting off as uncertainty took place. “I didn’t want to worry you.”
Astarion paused altogether and his crimson eyes were on you again.
“See, I do understand that reasoning,” he said, tugging at the thread that curled around one finger. “But considering the nature of your conversation with her, you should have told me right away.”
You nodded.
“As fruitful as my connection to her might prove to be, I cannot accept the deal you made with her.”
Your heart raced in your chest at how determined he seemed in his resolve.
However…
“If what she says is true and someone is after us, this feels like a small price to pay.”
Astarion snipped the thread with a pair of scissors before setting his handiwork on the bedside table.
The look on his face could easily make the bravest men cower in fear.
“Nothing that involves you is a ‘small price to pay’,” he said, voice low and heavy. “It’s one thing for me to willfully provide my blood, and another for her to take advantage of you so blatantly.”
You frowned deeply. “She is also taking advantage of you, then.”
“I can deal with her.”
Astarion had this tendency to sell himself short in terms of self-worth. At times, he was as confident as one could be, but the centuries of robbed autonomy and lack of genuine bond to others would often slip in and take hold.
He was probably not even aware of how easy it was for you to catch on to this, but you knew him well enough by now.
“You don’t have to.”
He rolled his eyes as he crossed his arms. “Don’t tell me what I can or can’t do.”
It nearly shattered you to hear him put up his defences around you so unbelievably fast.
There was no need for that.
“Don’t ,” you nearly pleaded. “Please don’t assume I am trying to tell you what to do.”
Just as rapidly, his features softened ever so slightly. “I apologise.”
You vehemently shook your head. “I also apologise if my words came across as condescending.”
An unsettling silence took place.
His eyes roamed across your face and you felt more exposed to him than you had ever been even when fully naked in his presence.
Even though you felt comfortable and safe with him, there were times when you wondered if it was reciprocal.
“Ava is not your concern,” he eventually said. “I will deal with her.”
You had no doubt he would.
It just saddened you that… “I know she was helping you out in more ways than one, even if I don’t particularly agree with the… method, so to speak.”
“Yet here you are, thinking that whatever bond I share with her is significant enough,” he said, voice dripping with amusement. “I am using her as much as she is using me. But I never allowed for that to extend to you. Ever .”
You swallowed as his harsh words hit you.
“That was her first mistake – involving you.”
“I took the deal freely.” you said.
“You didn’t have to at all,” he retorted impatiently. “She needs me more than I need her. So, if she knows anything about someone coming after us, she will tell me and I won’t be kind when I ask her to.”
Fair enough.
“Will you still give her your blood?”
“It depends.”
You blinked. “On what?”
“On how the conversation goes,” he said with a shrug. “Though what I do know for certain is that I will not give her blood after feeding on you.”
An impending sense of dread rose inside you and you vaguely wondered if you had just fucked up.
Information was power, and you worried that she might not take it well now that Astarion was openly against her proposal.
But to be fair, she did mention she would let him know about all of this. So, it wasn’t truly your fault that he didn’t take it well, was it?
In fact, it was very much on brand with Astarion.
His sense of loyalty to you was unwavering and transcended any arrangement the two of you had agreed to.
And that was a bond not easily severed, probably much to Ava’s dismay.
“You are off limits.”
It wasn’t a subtle warning by any means and it made your heart swell with warmth somehow. His protectiveness nearly rivalled that of Shadowheart, though you wouldn’t dare tell her this.
A faint smile curled his lips. “I have to thank you.”
You arched an eyebrow. “For what?”
He hesitated at first. “I know you mean well. I do know that.”
Oh, Astarion…
“You’re a better friend than I could ever have hoped for – or even deserve,” he went on. “It is hard at times to be vulnerable. I was never allowed to. For centuries I equated being vulnerable to being weak… even pathetic.”
You were unsure of how to respond, but you felt each word tug at your heartstrings in a way that you had only felt when he had confessed his feelings for you back in Moonrise Towers.
“I’m still getting used to this…” He paused abruptly as if pondering his next words. “Allowing myself to feel all these emotions, I suppose.”
“You are more deserving than you think,” you said truthfully. “Give yourself some credit. You used to be bound to your selfishness when we first met. You didn’t care for others because no one ever cared for you.”
His face held an expression akin to hurt, but it was the good kind of pain. Breaking one’s protective shell didn’t come without discomfort, but it was worth it in the long run.
Unconsciously, you shifted along the edge of the bed as the overwhelming urge to embrace him took over you at once.
Still, you didn’t want to push it, so you halted once you were sitting right next to him, which earned an amused smile from him.
“I have something for you.”
“Oh?”
He reached his hand to grab the piece of cloth on the nightstand. The very same he had just been embroidering moments ago.
“Come here.”
Your heart skipped a beat as he tapped his thigh twice.
Noticing your hesitancy, he repeated the motion until you gathered yourself, feeling a rush of heat pool at your cheeks.
“You do have a thing for keeping me waiting, darling.” he remarked playfully.
A chuckle made its way past your lips as you moved to settle on his lap, careful not to sit too close to his-
“Here you go,” he said, proffering what resembled a kerchief of some sort.
You took it in your hands, admiring its silky texture and mesmerising fusion of different shades of blue that swirled beautifully together until your eyes spotted the yellow-threaded embroidery sprawled along one corner.
Your name.
The needlework was impeccable as always.
Your eyes widened in sheer bewilderment as you remembered the last time he had offered you such a gift.“I – this is beautiful,” you managed to say. “The other one was a masterpiece as well.”
He chuckled tenderly. “The timing of my offering was rather inopportune on that day – I should have waited until we were back in camp.”
His words were sweet and caressed you like a lover, and you could feel yourself drawn more and more to him.
“May I?”
You nodded as he took the kerchief from your hands only to have it drape around your neck, his fingers tugging gently at both ends as his eyes met yours.
Oh.
Fuck.
You only had time to hastily hold on to the headboard with both hands for support as he pulled you in closer. “May I kiss you?”
It was an uncomfortable position to be in since you were trying to avoid his crotch at all costs.
“Where?”
His gaze dropped to your lips.
“Friends don’t do that.” you teased, but still inching closer to him.
“Darling ,” he began with a click of his tongue, rolling the edges of the fabric around each finger. “We haven’t been friends for quite a while now.”
And then he kissed you.
It was a hungry and urgent kiss and his tongue quickly slipped past your lips, causing you to instantly melt into him.
The softest moan escaped your throat as you felt a single fang nip teasingly at your lower lip.
Driven by pure instinct, you shifted along his thighs until you were pressed against his crotch.
He broke the kiss to let out a strained groan and you immediately lifted your hips, alarmed that you had gone too far.
But his hands immediately dropped to your waist, holding you in place. “Don’t.”
You met his lustful gaze. “I’m sorry…”
“Don’t. Please .”
He didn’t push you back against him, but you felt his fingers tease the waistband of your trousers.
“Astarion…” you said, unsure if this was a good idea.
He tugged again, but more gently this tme. “We don't have to do anything you don't feel comfortable with.”
Oh, you were more than eager to carry on. In fact, you were desperate .
You bit your lip, torn between listening to reason or giving in to the moment.
The latter won by a landslide.
You nodded and he masterfully undid the buttons and laces with one hand.
“Do you trust me?”
What an odd question from him. “You know I do.”
His thumb traced your jawline before grazing your lower lip and earning a sigh from you. “Can I trust you not to scream?”
“Scream? Why would I-”
Realisation hit you like a tidal wave and your eyes widened as words died in your mouth.
Oh.
Astarion smiled cheekily, patting your thigh, clearly urging you to slide off of his lap.  “Lock the door.”
You were still taken aback and didn't move an inch, staring into his crimson eyes instead as your heart drummed rapidly in your chest.
“Lock the door .”
It resembled a plea, which caused you to clench involuntarily from how desperate he sounded.
Swiftly slipping off his lap, you hurried across his room to turn the key below the doorknob until a click was heard.
By the time you turned around, Astarion had removed his shirt and you were rooted in place, utterly speechless.
He was a work of art.
No words of praise would ever do him justice.
Your mouth had dropped slightly open and he chuckled deviously. “You’re free to stay there and gawk, but I’d rather have you on top of me.”
His teasing snapped you out of your trance-like state and you felt a stronger wave of heat flare across your face and rush down your body.
Your legs felt weak all of a sudden, but you found your way back to him as you always did.
In the end, all roads did lead back to him.
As if driven by an outside force, you quickly slipped out of your trousers, only leaving on your underwear which was already gathering a growing wet spot.
His stare was fixed on your lower half and you spotted the familiar outline of his cock strained in his own trousers.
He eased you back on his lap with a firm grip on your waist and a boyish grin on his lips. Your hands settled on his bare shoulders, still mindful to not lower your hips too much.
“So, my dearest friend… ” he said, adjusting the kerchief around your neck. “How often do you indulge in such activities with your other friends?”
You smirked playfully. “Not often enough.”
He mirrored your expression, fingers slowly undoing each button of your shirt. “Oh? I wonder who crosses your mind, then.”
You.
But he already knew that as his hands travelled down your chest, each breath allowing your shirt to part wide enough to expose your heaving breasts.
“Is it Wyll?”
“You and your obsession with Wyll,” you laughed as he slowly pulled the fabric to the side, exposing each breast at a time. “I’m starting to think you want him for yourself.”
His eyes left yours to gaze at a perky nipple. “The question is: would you be willing to share?”
You whimpered softly as his thumb traced the underside of one breast and you felt too tempted to press down against his erection just so you could comfort the throb in between your legs.
“Of course… I’m all for sharing friends.”
Once he began grazing your nipple, you had to grip his shoulders tighter to anchor yourself.
Your body undulated instinctively, earning a hum of approval from him.
“Would you let Wyll do this, then? As a friend, obviously.”
You were about to arch a brow at his question when you felt one finger pulling your underwear to the side, exposing yourself to him.
It was almost comical how soaked you already were.
You reckoned it was enough to take more than just his fingers.
“Would you let him, darling?”
“I–”
But your voice died in your throat as he ran a single cool finger along your folds, carefully avoiding the swell in between them much to your agony.
The shift in temperature was always something that took some time getting used to and you occasionally flinched as your body adjusted to his touch.
“Can I do this, then?” he asked in a low growl as he teased your entrance. “As a friend.”
You rolled your hips out of reflex and he sank into you with ease until he was knuckle-deep.
“Gods…” you moaned in sheer relief, instinctively clenching around him.
He then pressed his thumb between your folds, causing your hips to jerk as he teased the pulsing swell. It wasn’t long until you began to slowly ride him, your eyes nearly fluttering shut.
“You can take more, can’t you?” he cooed, moving his hand to tease your other nipple. “I remember how eager you used to be for my cock.”
At this rate, he would make you come from his teasing words alone and with a single finger buried inside you.
“Astarion… don’t…” you moaned as you rolled your hips, urging him on.
He needed to shut up…
You needed him to stop talking before-
He suddenly slipped a second finger and you lost your balance, pressing your breasts against his bare chest while seeking support from his shoulder as you buried your face in his neck.
“You have no idea how I longed to be inside you again,” he sighed, his fingers gripping your waist and guiding your sloppy rolls, eventually setting the pace. “My hands can never feel as divine as you do.”
Gods…
You shuddered violently as your moans quickly turned into sobs and whimpers, the wet lewd sounds filling your ears.
He pressed the heel of his palm against you, the delicious friction causing you to rake your  hand down from his shoulder and along his chest until he caught your wrist, pressing your heated palm against his hardened nipple.
Astarion immediately groaned and you felt him arch into you.
“Darling…” he moaned, pumping his fingers faster inside you. “Please look down.”
You were so out of it, that his words didn’t register at first, so you kept on riding him in between sobs, further teasing his nipple under your touch.
“Look down,” he repeated more firmly, nearly slipping out of you. “I want you to see the mess you’ve made.”
“ No-no-no … please…” you nearly cried in exasperation, moving your hips desperately against him.
“Then look down.”
You growled in pure frustration, somehow managing to pull back enough to have your eyes land on the hand in between your legs.
It was soaked down to his wrist, and you could see some of it beginning to drip, staining his strained bulge.
You felt an overwhelming wave of embarrassment wash down over you and tried to bury your face in his neck again, but he gripped your chin with his fingers, halting you.
“Do not hide from me,” he said, slipping his fingers back inside as he stared into your half-hooded eyes. “This is one of the highest praises you can offer me.” And he proved his point by planting the softest kiss on your lips.
You immediately melted into his praise, realising just how lovely he could be…
The pent-up sexual frustration was at an all time high and you could feel the familiar coil in your lower abdomen reach the point of no return.
You wished you were strong enough to fight him back with snarky and witty replies, but your concentration was broken.
“What about a third one?”
You didn’t care anymore.
You just wanted release.
It had been too long since he had made you come and you'd take anything he gave you at this point.
“Just…” you began, chasing after that high relentlessly. “ Just… ”
He had the nerve to chuckle at your frustration and you felt a third finger prodding at your entrance.
You could take it.
You would take it.
The fullness would most surely remind you of his cock and you needed it.
You were wet enough to accommodate him as he pushed through, earning a gasp from you followed by a shudder and a strained groan.
“I don’t mean to brag, but I highly doubt dear Wyll would get this reaction from you.”
“Gods… stop talking about Wyll as you’re inside me,” you managed to string coherents words together in between your moans. “Just… please…”
He pressed a kiss to your flushed cheek. “You always take me so well.”
How you wished it was his cock instead, stretching you even more and filling you deeper.
You were nearly there.
“Don’t scream, darling.” he teased as you rode him desperately. “We wouldn't want dear Shadowheart to overhear your wanton cries.”
Well, Shadowheart was already privy to the nature of your relationship with Astarion thanks to him and how he clearly didn't shy away from taking care of himself with others around.
Your mind was about to blank and you slid the kerchief from your neck, feeling the need to bite down on something as you reached your peak.
A few more hip rolls did the trick and one last stroke of his thumb along your folds managed to push you right over the edge.
Your contractions were so violent and strong at first you thought you might die from how hard you were clenching around him, your legs wobbling dangerously as you were drained of lifeforce with each blinding wave of bliss.
The piece of cloth in your mouth didn’t do much to muffle you as your climax tore throughout your body, but it was better than having nothing.
Astarion only slid out once you had slumped into his chest, barely able to keep your breathing steady.
Your knees gave out and you sank down against his crotch, earning a guttural growl from deep within him.
Shit.
You instantly slid off of him, worrying you had accidentally gone too far. “Astarion… I’m…”
He shook his head, the hand that was soaked in your wetness clawing at the front of his trousers as his eyes were pressed shut.
Oh.
“I’ll take care of this…” he let out a pained hiss.
Oh.
“I can just leave,” you mumbled. “I’m…”
His trousers were now undone and you could see his clothes cock faintly throbbing.
And he shook his head once again. “You can stay – you can watch… if you want to.” His words were coated in urgent lust.
Your eyes widened at his proposition and you thought you might implode right there and then.
You had barely come down from your climax and the throbbing that had begun to subside was already about to match your quickened heartbeat.
“Or you can leave…” he said in a low and strained voice.
Oh, he was truly holding back…
“I… can stay.” you offered at once, sitting next to him and trying to ignore the lust that was building inside you once again.
This wasn't about you.
He quickly nodded and with a swift tug he freed his cock and you had to bite down hard on your lip at the mesmerising sight in front of you.
A single strand of precum dangled from the tip, already pooling on his lower abdomen.
“Gods above…” he let out a sigh of relief, hips lifting from the mattress as he wrapped the hand drenched in your wetness around him.
This was too hot to witness and you curled your hands into fists on your lap, wishing nothing more than to touch him again.
But you knew he needed this.
He needed to feel at ease with his body first.
His eyes met yours briefly before dropping to your chest and to your breasts as they heaved from your laboured breathing.
You removed your shirt, not wanting to obstruct his view and Astarion growled .
The pace was slow at first as he squeezed his cock, but he quickly picked up, mixing your wetness with his with each stroke.
He looked positively ethereal as his handsome face twisted in pleasure, lips parted and razor-sharp fangs peeking through.
Should you say something? Should you praise him? Encourage him? Or would it be too much?
From what you remembered, he seemed to revel in your teasing words in moments of shared bliss, but how much of that was an act back then? Was he ever able to fully enjoy being with you?
In doubt, you chose to remain silent as you watched him bring himself closer to his own climax.
It didn't take him long to start mumbling your name in between heated pants and there was no way back now.
You were throbbing hard again, wetness spilling from you with each involuntarily clench.
Your body was so ready for him… it was almost painful.
A thicker string of precum bridged his tip to his abdomen, and you nearly moaned, remembering its sweet taste.
He rolled his hips languidly, eyes never leaving you as he gripped the bedsheets under him with such force you reckoned me might tear right through the fabric.
That sparked newfound curiosity inside you.
Slowly, you leaned forward, shifting closer just to have your hand next to his without quite touching him, but close enough for him to feel your warmth.
I'm here… I'm with you, you wanted to whisper, but only heard the words echo in your head.
He groaned in response and, much to your surprise, he released the sheets and his fingers found you, intertwining them in yours as he held on to you.
Your heart might have skipped several beats, you were no longer sure at this rate.
You had seen him reach his peak a handful of times before, but there was something different about the way he toppled over the edge this time.
He threw his head back against the headboard, straining his neck as his mouth dropped open, your name being the only intelligible word you could make out in the midst of hisses and groans.
Your heart was hammering so fast in your chest that you feared you might not make it as he reached his peak.
His hips still momentarily and he covered his swollen tip with his hand and the first spurts of cum began to slip through his fingers before dribbling down to gather at the base and across his lower abdomen.
You held his hand formçy through his climax. Perhaps the first genuine one you had ever witnessed, which invoked an odd feeling of… delight?
For the second time in just a mere couple of days, the two of you held hands albeit seeking varying degrees of comfort and relief.
Beads of sweat rolled down his temple and covered his bare torso as he descended from his high and that was when his eyes met yours.
Your stomach turned and you felt the throb between your legs begin to ease with each passing second.
“Will you kiss me?”
His request took you by surprise, but you promptly shifted next to him until your face was close enough that your lips grazed his.
Only then did he let go of your hand and merely because he meant to hold your chin as he kissed you softly.
It carried neither urgency nor lust.
Just a pure display of silent  intimacy that strummed at your heartstrings more effectively than any other praise he could ever offer you.
You melted into his sweet touch and allowed your kiss to express the unspoken words you had yet to tell him.
I love you…
Whichever form of love it was, all you knew was that it felt right and love overdue.
You could feel him occasionally smile against your lips and there was not a single drop of doubt in you.
I love you.
After what felt like an eternity, you pulled away, already mourning his touch.
“Shadowheart knows.”
He arched an eyebrow. “Oh?”
You had to hold back a chuckle. “She heard you – well, when you were… handling things after feeding on me.”
The most mischievous of smiles settled on his lips.
“I thought you said you were quiet…”
“I was, darling,” he said before pecking your cheek. “For the most part, that is.”
You giggled and then stared at him in awe as his beauty increased tenfold from where you sat.
He was impossibly handsome.
“You’re so…”
“Charming?”
You rolled your eyes as he pressed his cool lips to your other cheek.
“Beautiful?”
Another kiss.
“You’re so… you.” you blurted out almost feeling embarrassed from how basic your praise was.
But it drew the biggest smile from him, and you mirrored it instantly.
“Well…”
You watched as his eyes dropped to his lower half and yours widened slightly at the obscene amount of cum was now dribbling down his sides in thick beads. His hand was still holding his now softening cock, fingers drenched in his own spend.
“That’s a lot…” you said.
He nodded, looking almost as perplexed as you were. “I don’t think I’ve ever…” and his voice trailed down.
And you knew exactly what he meant.
With a warm smile, you extended your hand, offering him the kerchief he had gifted you moments before.
He visibly winced. “No, darling. It would be nigh criminal to use such delicate fabric on this .”
Your smile widened. “Can I fetch you a towel then?”
“Please,” he said with an exasperated sigh. “It’s rather messy here.”
You pressed a fleeting kiss to his lips before sliding off the bed and hurriedly slipping into your shirt and trousers and crossing the room.
The key turned in one swift move and you quickly left the room.
You were only able to take a few steps before a silhouette startled you.
Shadowheart.
She was leaning against the railing by the top of the staircase with folded arms and a quirked brow.
“Gods! You scared me,” you said, clutching at your chest.
“Glad some of us are able to enjoy ourselves in such times.”
You swallowed hard. “Uh… we were just talking.”
She snickered humorously. “I suppose it’s a form of communication.”
An overwhelming heatwave spread across your face. Had you been that loud? Or had he?
Then her expression turned serious. “Pull yourself together. We have visitors.”

LAST NIGHT - BELLAMY BLAKE
Tumblr media
Pairing: Bellamy Blake x Reader
Word Count: 2,355
Summary: (requested) A drinking game with Monty and Co goes a bit too far. Intending to get back to your own tent, you stumble upon Bellamy and some shock revelations.
You hadn’t been on the Ground long yet it seemed like you never left the Ark. You had convinced Raven to let you stowaway with her in her rebuilt pod and now, you were among friends.
Mostly.
The only caveat - other than the alleged war with the Grounders - was Bellamy Blake.
Not quite friends, not quite enemies, but frenemies didn’t work either. It seemed like you two just couldn’t go a day without arguing or damn near punching each other in the mouth. There wasn’t really any reason to it either. He liked to instigate you and your temper had you engaging in the bickering everytime. It had been that way since you had first met, but you had to admit, it was fun for you too.
Once the flares went up and hope was in the air, liquor was being poured into cups across camp. You took a spot with Monty, Jasper, and Harper, and Jasper did not hesitate to fill your little tin cup as much as he could.
Your group started some nonsense drinking game, and you lost count of the drinks or rounds after about four. If anyone asked, you didn’t know who was winning or losing or even the premise of the game anymore. All you knew was that you had drunk way too much way too fast. When the entire forest was spinning around you, you used the bit of logical thought you had left and decided to make your way to your tent.
Harper offered to help you, but the slurring of her words told you that she was about as lucid as you were. You waved her off and reasoned that you could make it on your own since there were walls around camp now. If there was the potential of you wandering into the empty woods, then you would’ve taken her up on the offer, but you’d be fine.
As you were wandering back, you saw Octavia sneaking out. Curious, you tried to follow. You had gotten all of four steps before you tripped over your own feet and landed on your side. You laughed at yourself and rolled to your back, hands flat on your stomach. Maybe you’d just sleep there.
“What are you doing?” Bellamy asked, suddenly standing over you.
“Sleeping.” You answered.
“Oh, shit.” He sighed and you grinned. “Are you drunk?”
“Are you?” You tried to point a finger at him but ended up gesturing to nothing, which made you giggle.
His hand closed around your wrist and he hauled you to your feet, bringing on another round of laughter. He kept a grip on your arm and guided you through camp, despite your dragging feet and nonsense blabbering. He brought you to your tent but you refused to go in.
Surely he had you turned around. Or maybe that was the liquor buzzing in your head. Regardless. you stomped your foot and told him he was wrong. You pointed to a tent three over and said that one was yours. You could see he was trying to stay patient with you but he didn’t sign up to babysit you as a drunk.
“That’s not yours.” He complained and you squinted in suspicion. “That’s Atom’s.”
“I have an innate sense of di-rec-tion.” You pointed out, holding up a finger. “I know where I’m supposed to be.”
“Alright, Magellan.” He laughed slightly and offered you his hand. “Come with me.”
“Oh no you don’t.” You wagged your finger and hiccuped. “I know how that goes. You bring me to your tent, you play the hero, and you think I’ll sleep with you.”
“No, Y/N, I’m not trying to sleep with you.” He sighed.
“Well why not?” You stomped, now offended. “I’ll have you know I’m spectacular.”
“I’m sure you are.” He rolled his eyes slightly and grabbed your wrist. “But I’m not gonna sleep with you when you’re wasted like this, so come with me… Please.”
You gasped dramatically. “Bellamy Blake knows the word ‘please’? I have to-“ Hiccup. “-tell everyone.”
He sighed slightly before he leaned down and looped his other arm around the back of your leg. You made a face to yourself but before you could say anything, he threw you over his shoulders. You squealed and kicked your feet, banging your fists weakly against him.
“Put me down!” You laughed. “Damn you, Bellamy!”
“Yeah, yeah.” He muttered, but there was amusement in his voice. He carried you to a tent and dropped you on your feet.
You stumbled when your feet hit the floor and you let yourself drop to the floor. You giggled when you landed and looked up at him. His arms were crossed and his eyebrows were raised, as if he expected you to say something. You huffed and crossed your arms the same way.
“You have, like, the biggest tent.” You looked around his space.
“What’s your point?” He sighed.
You threw your hands to the side which made you wobble slightly. Your eyes went big as you regained your balance before you laughed again. You looked back to Bellamy and he was already looking at you.
“You wanna know something?” You said loudly and crawled over to sit across from him.
“You’re gonna tell me anyway.” He crossed his arms again.
“I like your curly hair.” You said simply and he couldn’t hide the surprise on his face. “You always had it like slicked back on the Ark.”
“Thanks?”
“Yeah.” You nodded. “You thank people for compliments.”
“You’re not usually the compliment type.” He rolled his eyes. “Usually you’re the ‘kicking me in the shin’ type.”
“I could do that too.” You nodded. “But! I will not.”
“Lucky me.”
“Don’t you be mean to me again!” You thrust a finger forward and the sudden movement made you dizzy for a moment. “You’re always mean.”
“Coming from the girl who has a comment everytime I say anything to her?” He commented with a small laugh.
“Because you’re mean.” You glared. “But you’re pretty, so it’s a give and take I guess.” You shrugged.
“Jesus, Y/N.” He sighed, rubbing a hand down his face. “How much did you drink tonight?”
“I don’t like your tone, Blake!”
“And I don’t really care.”
“You don’t like me very much, do you?” You changed the subject. You couldn’t quite remember how much you had.
“What do you mean?” He cocked his head.
“You’re mean to me.” You frowned and counted off your statements. “You don’t laugh at my jokes. You never let me do things. You used to make fun of me on the Ark and that’s why I kick your stupid shins. You always give me that look.”
“What look?”
“That look! Like you’re trying to make me spontaneously combust.”
He shook his head with a disbelieving laugh. “Y/N, I never said I didn’t like you.”
“But you’re mean.” You pouted.
He knelt down in front of you and you pursed your bottom lip.
“I’m gonna tell you this now, because you probably won’t remember it in the morning.” He said quietly, like it was a secret.
You leaned in, reaching for him to keep your steady. He caught your hands and you felt a sobering heat on your cheeks.
“I do like you, Y/N.” He said, wide eyes and a small smile. “It started as a crush when we were kids and now… Now I can’t stop thinking about you, looking for you in the crowds and trying to find an excuse to talk to you.”
“No way.” You whispered.
“I know.” His smile drew a little wider. “I never meant to be mean.”
“You’re not that mean.” You shrugged. “Let’s just say it was banter.”
“Banter.” He repeated with a laugh. “Yeah, alright.”
“Like in those books!” You announced. “Where they act like they hate each other but they’re actually madly in love.”
“Let’s go with that then.” He nodded, that small smile still playing on his lips. “Do you want me to walk you to your tent?”
“I don’t think I could make it back to my tent.” You confessed before a fit of giggles. “I feel like I’m gonna fall over as soon as I get up.”
“What happened to that innate sense of direction?” He asked as he helped you to your feet.
You shrugged. “It seems to have left me.”
“Or you never had it.”
“I still have a foot and you still have shins.” You warned, though the slurring of your words left them without any threat. “Just cause I like you doesn’t mean I won’t kick the hell outta you. It’s called duality.”
He shook his head and helped you shuffle across the tent. Carefully, you two laid down and you felt the world shift as you did so. You made a noise, something like the joking sound of a ghost, and slammed a hand to the blankets. Bellamy’s hand closed over yours and you looked over at him. You broke into a grin and he returned the smile, not as wide as yours but an honest smile.
You shifted over and put your head against his shoulder. He adjusted his arm so it was draped over your chest and you two just laid there for a while. You continued to talk, about anything and everything. A butterfly you saw earlier that day. A conversation you had with Octavia. What you remembered from your earlier drinking game. Before you knew it, you were drifting off to sleep.
And for the first time since you stepped foot on the ground, you truly felt safe.
When you woke up, you had no idea how late into the day it was. Bellamy was still beside you, so you doubted it was that late. Your head pounded as you pushed yourself to sit up and glanced around.
Your brows furrowed as you realized you weren’t in your own tent.
You slapped a hand over your mouth when you realized. You peeked over your shoulder again and it sunk in that you weren’t in your tent. You were in Bellamy’s.
You muttered to yourself in panic as you got up quickly. Your clothes were which both left you relieved and oddly disappointed. At least he didn’t try to hook up with you when you were drunk, but being drunk might’ve been the only way you’d be confident enough to sleep with him.
You snuck a glance outside the tent and saw there weren’t many people around. With a sigh of relief, you stepped out and immediately winced at the brightness of the sun.
“Hello Sleeping Beauty!” Jasper yelled from basically across camp and you cringed as more heads turned in your direction.
You hurried over and whacked him on the arm.
“Ow! What was that for?” He complained.
“For making people stare at me!” You hissed.
“What difference does it make?” He laughed. “Oh, I see. You don’t want people to see you coming out of Bellamy’s tent.”
“Shut up!”
“Why? You didn’t have any problems going into Bellamy’s tent last night.”
“Jasper, I swear I will kill you!”
He laughed and threw his arm over your shoulders. “But seriously, Y/N/N. Yesterday you were ready to tear his head off, now you’re tearing his clothes off.”
You elbowed him in the ribs.
“Lay off, Jasper.” Bellamy said, suddenly at your side.
You stiffened for a moment before you hid your face in your hands. You complained to yourself, ignoring whatever the boys were saying around you, and wished to disappear. You peeked between your fingers and saw Jasper leave. Hoping Bellamy left too, you dropped your hands.
You were wrong.
“You feel okay?” Bellamy asked.
“Mortified, actually.” You answered. “But I didn’t kill my liver last night, just a headache. I’m fine, thanks…”
He gestured for you to follow and hesitantly, you did.
“You were pretty drunk last night.” He began as you fell into stride with him.
“Well aware, thank you.” You rolled your eyes. “I do appreciate you not leaving me on the ground. Can’t say I would’ve done the same for you, but…” You shrugged.
Bellamy laughed slightly.
“What?” You asked quickly.
“You don’t remember what you said last night, do you?” He smiled at you.
You were so taken aback by it, the true delight and shine of his smile, that you tripped over your own feet. You landed on your back and groaned, more in embarrassment than anything. Bellamy knelt beside you with an amused smirk and you threw your arms over your face.
“Kill me now.” You groaned. “What did I say last night?”
You wished you could melt into the floor.
“That you’re madly in love with me.”
You could hear the smile he still wore. You sat up quickly and nearly collided with him.
“I did not say that.” You defended quickly. You may not remember much of the night before but you sure as hell would’ve remembered saying that.
“I know, I was shocked. And then you said you just had to have me. You were pretty persistent.”
You squinted in suspicion but he feigned innocence.
“It’s true.” He shrugged.
You kicked his arm since you couldn’t reach his shins, but he just laughed.
“It’s alright, though. Wanna know why?” He smirked.
“Go on and enlighten me.” You rolled your eyes.
“Cause I might be madly in love with you too.”
“Might?” You raised your eyebrows. “So you just let any girl you might be in love with sleep with you?”
“Hey now. You tell people we slept together, they might get the wrong idea.” He offered you a hand to help you to your feet.
“Oh, please.” You scoffed. “It’s gonna take more than a few drinks and those pretty curls to get me in bed with you.”
His hands were suddenly on your waist and he pulled you flush against him.
“Worked last night.” He shrugged.
“Beginner’s luck.” You rolled your eyes. “Bet it won’t happen again.”
“You’re on.”
“And when I win?”
“When I win, you’ll be in my bed. If you win, I’ll be in yours.”

When you entered the studio, Rafayel was resting on the sofa with his eyes closed.
“You're back already? How was the meeting with your old friends?"
He got to his feet just in time to witness the pearl-like tears that were cascading from your eyes. You quickly wiped it away, but Rafayel immediately came to your side and held your wrist.
"What's wrong? Did someone bully you?”
You hiccuped loudly. Rafayel wrapped an arm around your waist and pulled you into his arms. "Tell me. Who dares to make my bodyguard cry?
You leaned against Rafayel, a cheek pressed against his chest. His heart rate shot through the roof, then steadily stabilized. The sound of his heart pounding was what you loved listening to, as it soothed you.
Waiting for your sobbing to pass, then you added:
“Sometimes being around other people is so tiring.”
Rafayel took a small step back. His hands circled your neck and raised your chin just enough to make you meet his gaze.
“Are… Are you sick of me? You're about to leave me again, is that true?"
You had to giggle at the pathetic and sulky look on his face. Rafayel was drawn closer by your arms encircling his hips, and you said:
"No. I'm talking about my group of friends. As for you, Rafayel, you are not even human.”
“That's right.” Rafayel exclaimed as his face brightened. “Then you don't have to be sad. If you no longer have friends on land, you still have fish in the aquarium, and in the sea. Fishies are waaaayyyy better than humans. Especially a particular fish that knows how to draw, sing and make you laugh.”
This time you laughed out loud, cracking in the room filled with Rafayel's artwork. He was right; you always had him and the ocean for company. You did not have to try to please everyone, but just the people who were most important to you.
“Thank you, Rafayel.” With a little tiptoe, you kissed his cheek, causing his face to flush.

As soon as you left the practice area, you caught a glimpse of Xavier waiting outside. You did your best to conceal the tears that were ready to fall, but they were still visible to him.
“What's the matter?”
"Nothing." With a forced smile, you replied. Of course, Xavier did not believe that.
“Are your test results not good?”
He had got you, so you just stared down at the ground. You were trying my best to stay calm, but all you wanted to do was cry out loud in his arms.
Seeming to know that, Xavier pulled you close. His hand gently stroked your hair, pausing now and again to pat your shoulder as a gesture of comfort.
“I… I've been practicing for months… And yet… I still couldn't pass that test…”
"It's not that bad. There haven't been many Hunters who had successfully completed that test. No need to be so harsh with yourself. You did very well, and you are always the best Hunter.”
Feeling Xavier's arms tighten, you sobbed again. It wasn't enough to simply aspire to the top; you also wanted to succeed in every test and every challenge. Given Xavier's level of expertise as a Hunter, you wanted to show that you were strong enough to accompany him and shield him without letting him worry about you everywhere, all the time.
Xavier waited for you to finish crying before gently suggesting:
“You know, getting plushies from claw machines is also a way to practice skills.”
“You just said that to cheer me up.”
However, when you thought about the cute plushies waiting to be taken home, you suddenly felt calmer. Why not, when the most adorable plushie in the world was standing in front of you, eyes wide open as if he was pleading with you to accompany him to the arcade?
“Are you sure you want to miss the special edition plushies this week?”
Xavier asked. You replied with a shake of your head.
"Of course you won't. Let's go then. The greatest Hunter in Linkon cannot be outplayed by any claw machine."
With a smile on your face, you held his hand. You might have failed this test, but you already won Xavier's heart.

You did not say anything to Zayne the whole way home. Yet Zayne remained silent, concentrating on driving without even asking you a single question, even though he knew just by looking at your face, you had had a very bad day.
The intense work made you exhausted. You had been under constant stress for around two weeks straight. The number of Wanderers appearing more and more seriously caused you to take on extra shifts, but that was nothing compared to the paperwork you had to report, or the secret meetings that lasted for hours.
Somewhere in your crazy schedule, you still hoped to receive a call, a text message from Zayne. But when you saw nothing on the phone screen, your heart sank even though you knew Zayne's work was very busy these days.
In any case, you were grateful that he took you home and agreed to cook dinner for you today. You decided not to let your stress bother him. But as soon as he put the bag of food on the kitchen counter, Zayne pulled you back and gave you a strong embrace from behind.
“Z-Zayne?” You were startled and couldn't move because he held you so tightly.
“Now, can you tell me what’s on your mind?”
His whispering voice and his warm breath made one of your ears turn red. You were confused:
“You noticed?...”
There was a sigh coming from behind you. Zayne let go of you, then turned you around to face him.
“I didn't ask, because I expected you to tell me everything only when you wanted first.”
The number of patients visiting Akso Hospital has also increased dramatically in recent days. Regular overtime work was required of Zayne. Yet he still maintained a calm attitude in all situations. Every day and every hour, he always tried to be better, to save more people. You should do the same and become stronger.
You sat up straight to look into his eyes. A smile flashed across Zayne's lips. He lifted your chin and wiped your face with a tissue.
"Do not be sad. A smile is much better on your face."

"It is a privilege to work at the red keep" Your mother had said to you as she fixed a bonnet on your head.
At the age of 10 you did not see it this way but alas you were the oldest of your siblings and your parents did not have much money, it was your turn to start helping the family, so you would join your mother in being a chambermaid at the red keep.
"I have been working up there for years and haven't had any trouble. You will simply take your work and keep your head down." This is how you came to work at the red keep. Your first assignment had been collecting the washing.
At the age of ten you were not trusted to do much else other than scuttle about the castle collecting clothes for washing and then once washed bringing them back to their rightful owner. This was an easy job and the first few days you completed the task without so much as a hiccup. But today, your third day, you were to pick up the washing of the Prince Aemond Targaryen.
The problem? He had recently received a grievous injury, which left him recovering in his chambers.
"He will be in there; you will need to knock and await a clear order to enter. is that understood?" The head maid Alandra had warned you. You nodded your head furiously in understanding and skipped through the corridors making your way to his chambers. When you arrived you simply rapped upon the door as you had done with all the others putting your ear to the door to await a response.
"Enter!" You hear a voice muffled, from the door and distance. You open the door and enter the chamber looking for the basket for washing.
" I said do not enter!" The angry voice of a young boy came hurtling at you as you freeze in terror. You avert your eyes "M-m-my Prince my apologies, I thought I- I- I heard-" He cuts you off abruptly "Thought what? that you could just enter my chambers when I advised you not to! Come to see, did you? Come to see the horror?" As he says this, he keeps his head turned from you.
"N-no I am here to pick up the washing! I swear!" Your entire body shakes, you have clearly made a grave mistake and upset a Targaryen Prince and even at this youthful age you understand the repercussions that could result from an incident like this.
"Take it and go" he says quietly, still turned away from you. "Do not come back in here.” You bow your head quickly grabbing the basket of laundry and run from his chambers. You quickly drop the laundry off to the woman doing the washing and run to find your mother.
Your mother, most distressed to hear this news, tells Alandra who simply states that all they can do at this point is wait to see if anything comes of it.
3 more days pass and you continue your work waiting for the hammer to fall but it never comes. After a month or two you had all but forgotten the incident, the only lingering reminder being your refusal to return to the chambers of Prince Aemond.
That is until he is released from his recovery, eyepatch firmly in place. Now it is much more difficult to avoid him, this becomes especially apparent when you accidentally stumble onto his hidden reading spot which happens to also be the place you like to eat your midday meal.
"Oh, my apologies my Prince" You bow your head and back up desperate to get out of there as quickly as possible. "What's that?" He gestures toward the oranges in your hand.
"O-oranges my Prince" You back up one more step itching to remove yourself from his presence. "Give me one" he holds his hand out to you; you timidly step forward until you are just close enough to place the oranges in his outstretched hand.
"I said one" He leaves his hand outstretched waiting for you to remove one of the oranges. With a quivering hand you reach down and lift one of the oranges. Once you have it you grip it tightly and take a step back preparing to drop into a curtsy. "Stay" he doesn't lift his head when he makes this command, he simply starts to peel his orange.
You stand rooted in place.
"Well sit. I Cannot have you standing over me like some sort of ogre" he gestures to the empty space to his left. You quietly and slowly lower yourself to the ground and the two of you quietly eat your oranges not exchanging a word.
This one chance meeting develops into a regular meeting tucked away in the back of the garden. The silent meetings change over time into brief conversations which further change into much longer and much deeper conversations.
Before you even understood how impossible this situation is you had become besotted with the prince. You found yourself rushing to your meeting spot and laughing with him until your sides hurt.
Your feelings only got stronger as you saw him grow from a boy to a man. lithe, assertive face and lone purple eye that you still see every night when you lay down to sleep.
The little fantasy you had built up in your head all comes crashing down when your mother announces the son of the local butcher has expressed interest in you.
"I am not interested in him!" You scream. "My heart belongs to another!"
"Do you think I am a fool?" Your mother seethes. "Do you think I do not see the doe eyes you make toward the prince?" You look up at your mother, eyes welling with tears.
"I ... I love him mother." Your mother runs her hands down her face. "He is a Prince of the realm! You are but a maid!" she pulls you in for a hug "Darling it is impossible. You are so bright, my pride, you have to know this."
You cry into your mother's shoulder. You know it is impossible. You have known this all along, but you were happy being able to pretend that maybe, just maybe you could have what your heart most desired.
You lament the thought of marrying another and putting that fantasy to rest. Ending that dream in its entirety.
"He will be a butcher. That is a comfortable life for you. I cannot imagine we could find a better match" She strokes your cheeks fondly. "All I wish for you, my beauty, is a life easier than mine, and with this match, you will get that" her eyes convey a silent plea as she looks at you.
"I understand mother. This is a smart match." You nod your head as you fight back your tears. As much as this hurts, you know she is right. Life as a butcher's wife would be one of moderate comfort, while the life of a Princess would never be yours to have.
Over the coming weeks you are introduced to the young man your parents have decided to be your husband. Alden is a nice boy. He is decent looking and overly sweet. You were pleased to see that he wasn't quite as plump as his mother or have as little hair as his father.
You move about your daily duties in the castle the way you always have. You have not told Aemond of the match set for you by your parents. You knew he would not care but, you had a lingering feeling of discomfort over breaching the topic with him. You did, however, want to tell him before you were wed. Your husband-to-be had decided that he did not want his wife to be a maid at the castle. You would work in the butcher shop like the rest of his family. So, with a heavy heart just two days before your planned marriage you sit down in the garden next to Aemond, two oranges in hand.
He lifts his head from his book. "You're late. I was thinking I may have to go fetch my own orange today. "
"My apologies, I have a few tasks I have been training some of the new girls on" You squeeze your orange in the palm of your hand digging your nails into the course skin.
He raises an eyebrow. "I don't want a different chamber maid; you do things just as I like."
"As will they, I will make sure of it. My.... My time working here has ended. I am to join my husband’s family at their shop in town"
You avoid his gaze as you speak just watching the orange in your hand as you squeeze it tighter and tighter your fingernails buried in the outer layer.
"I did not know that you had been wed." He closes the book he was reading placing it in his lap.
"Look at me" he nearly barks.
The tone shocks you out of your daze "I-I-I-I am not, not yet. I am to be wed in two days."
The playful look he had worn when you arrived has vanished and been replaced with a steely cold look. "To whom?" his voice is quiet but controlled.
You look at him with a dumfounded expression. You were not expecting a reaction like this from him. You really did not expect a reaction at all, let alone one so passionate.
"I asked you a question, I expect that you answer it." His one eye is locked on you, and he taps his finger against the cover of his book.
"Alden. He is the son of the local butcher" You look down at the ground and lower your voice "It is a smart match."
"Hmmmm.... Seems so"
The rest of your midday meeting passed in silence, Aemond's jaw clenched his orange resting upon his book.
Eventually, you bid him farewell and continued with the training of your replacement maids before heading home for the night.
You wake up the next morning preparing for your last day working in the red keep. You will be married the next day, and your new life will start. Your meetings with Aemond, will be just memories of a young girl. Plenty of fodder for dreams and nothing more.
Leaving your home, which normally was no special affair, led you directly into a scene of chaos. People all around you chattering about the execution of a thief, a thief who dared to steal from the icy cold Prince Aemond.
A general sense of dread fills your body as you follow the large crowd into the courtyard. Aemond and a few of the guards stood around a man on his knees his head down.
"Stealing from the crown is an offence punishable by death" Aemond states loudly his voice quieting the crowd. He twirls a large sapphire between his fingers.
"You have stolen something very precious to me."
"M-m-my Prince, I do not know how that came into my home!" The man you now recognize as Alden pleads.
You gasp covering your mouth. Why would Alden steal from the prince? He is hardly at the keep. Only ever there to help his father deliver meats, when would he have had time to steal from Aemond?
"It was found not only in your home but on your person" Aemond's voice is loud, crisp, clear, and cold as ice.
Your mother walks up beside you and takes your hand in hers, squeezing it tightly. You look over at her bewildered and frightened, but her gaze is set toward the horrifying display before you.
"Let this be a lesson to all" His one cold eye scans the crowd until it lands on your mother.
"For those who wish to steal from me.... this is the fate that awaits you" his eye stays locked on your mother as the executioner behind him raises an axe over a quivering and crying Alden. Your stomach is cold, as if full of ice as you look at the man you thought was your friend. His eye set on your mother making sure she understands his silent threat.
You hear the sound of the axe come down and quickly lower your head, focusing your thoughts instead on your mothers’ shoes. Her feet are so dainty.
The crowd starts to disperse, and your mother tugs your hand bringing you toward the keep.
"No! I am not going in there!" You try to yank your hand away from your mother, but she pulls it back to her quickly.
"There is no choice in this, I think that much is clear" She snaps at you keeping her voice low. "We go back to work and continue on."
You nod your head; words do not come to you, but you continue with a kind of mechanical movement. One foot in front of the other. You complete your tasks in much the same way. The only deviation being that you decided to skip your midday meal.
Only 2 hours after your usual meeting time you were summoned to Aemond's chambers. He never summons you. He always knew when to expect you to turn over his linens, collect his clothing for washing. He never needed to summon you.
You approach his door as if you are the one being led to the axe. It could not be a coincidence that yesterday you told Aemond you were to marry Alden and today Alden is publicly executed.... could it?
You lightly knock on his door and await his usual call for you to enter; instead, the door flies open. You flinch back slightly at the sudden movement looking off to the side.
"Come in" He stands to the side giving you space to enter.
"You requested my presence my Prince?" you try to keep your voice low, and eyes angled so you are looking just behind him, hoping beyond all hope that he cannot see how absolutely terrified you are.
"Look at me" he stands directly before you, so close you can feel the heat springing from his body. You slowly raise your head and look up at him through your lashes.
"You are to stay working here, at the red keep as my personal chamber maid."
"Yes, my Prince" You slightly nod your head.
"You missed midday meal, I waited for an orange that never came" he places his hands behind his back and leans forward ever closer, bridging the already miniscule gap that lay between you.
"I found myself without an appetite."
"That may be so, but I was famished...." he clicks his tongue. "Still am"
He grabs you by your chin tightly. "You could not have possibly thought I would have let him have you" He growls up against the side of your face. "There are many things that I deserve that are given to others, but I would not lose my darling to a butcher" his voice is filled with disgust.
"This is not possible, you can not marry me I am a maid!" you look at him eyes pleading as he starts to chuckle.
"I know that, I do not plan to marry you."
You look at him questioningly "Then what-"
" I plan to keep you as my own." he lightly traces his finger down your cheek.
your face falls.
"Now, it brings me no pleasure to punish my darling, but you have left me no choice" He moves in close dragging his nose along the side of your face inhaling your scent. "You will be an obedient servant for me? Won't you?"
"Yes, my prince" an unfamiliar feeling of fear mixed with anticipation creeps up your spine as he wraps an arm around you and pulls you closer to him.
"Now.... I will give you a set of instructions and you will follow each one with immediacy and accuracy." as you go to respond he interrupts "Do not speak unless I ask you to". You nod just to let him know you understood his instruction.
"Good.... now remove everything" You look at him your face conveying a look of confusion.
"Everything that you are wearing" He tilts his head to the side, again putting his arms behind his back, a small smirk on his face.
You slowly start to unlace your dress, hands nervously shaking.
"Quickly now. I have somewhere to be." You take a deep breath in and just as before your movements become mechanical. Taking your clothes off as you would at home before washing. As you pull each piece of clothing off you fold it and place it in a pile by your feet. Once you are fully undressed you look back to Aemond awaiting his next order.
He walks up close to you. "Now me"
Your trembling fingers slowly start to unclasp the buckles on his doublet. He chuckles and clicks his tongue "Quickly".
Your fingers move along his buckles and laces like a musician playing an instrument, quick and precise. Once he is as bare as you are, nothing left on but his eye patch. He motions you over to the bed, as you move to get on it his voice echoes through the room.
"No" he stops you and pulls you back toward the edge of the bed.
"Kneel here" you get down on your knees facing the edge of the frame as he sits before you.
"As I told you, I have someplace to be" He wraps his hand around your chin, pulling your bottom lip down with his thumb. "My pretty little darling" He starts to pump himself to full hardness, while gripping your chin tighter, the nail of his thumb digging into the sensitive skin of your lip.
He hits your chin with the hardened tip of his cock and chuckles.
"You look even prettier like this." He slides the tip of his cock against your plush lips.
"open", you open your mouth looking up at him through your lashes. "That's good" he slides the tip into your mouth as you settle yourself down between his legs. He grabs the braid tied up on the back of your head and grips it tight slowly lowering your head. As he pushes you further and further down his shaft you start to sputter
"Shhhhh darling" He coos gently as he strokes the side of your face. He holds your head in place as you get used to the sensation, breathing through your nose.
He continues to push your head down until your nose is buried in his groin and you are gagging, tears flowing from your eyes, drool dripping from the sides of your mouth. He sighs and chuckles, before grabbing your braid and holding your head in place as he pulls you slightly back. You struggle to take in a gulp of air before he is back inside your mouth, his hips thrusting feverishly as he uses your mouth as if it were not attached to an actual human.
The sounds of his sighs and pants, along with your gagging and slurping fill the room as the heat and tingling between your thighs grows almost unbearable. He stands from the bed still gripping your hair tightly shoving his cock further into your mouth battering the back of your throat as he increases his pace.
You attempt to look up at him, but your eyes can only see the blurry shape of the man above you.
Just as your head begins to feel light, like you could just float away, he stiffens in your mouth and presses himself all the way to the back of your throat and holds you there. You fight the urge to pull away as you feel him empty himself directly down your throat as he lets out a choked groan.
When he finally pulls himself out of your mouth and walks back toward his clothes you sit back on your feet, wiping the tears from your eyes and gasping for air.
"Turns out I lied" he says coolly.
You look over at him still panting heavily, face red, chin covered in drool.
"I did find pleasure in that."

Kaeya isn’t used to feeling like this.
The interesting days of tasks and adventitious missions superseded his need for activities outside of the Knights of Favonius. He often stumbled—more so, needlessly interjected—into petty situations. He lived for theatrics, an audience to indulge emotion and intimacy in its most vulnerable state. A man who solves the problems of the public before his own knew neither authentic nor genuine connection. Kaeya was well aware of how easily he made hearts swoon, with a silver tongue and attractive timbre, a mask imperceptible. When you arrived as an apprentice for the 6th Company, he assumed you’d be just as easy, just as captivated. You were anything but. You barely acknowledged his existence for the first year, and he’d be wrong to say your lack of dalliance didn’t chip away at his self-esteem.
Something egotistical in him wanted your attention. Romantic prospects were dispensable to him, but you had to know who he was. After all, who doesn’t love the Calvary Captain?
Just for fun he told himself, as you became the first person to turn him flushed and sow seeds of doubt surrounding love in his heart. Kaeya finally managed to achieve your regard and all you asked for was his name. The audacity of you, to ask the captain who he is? He nearly busted out laughing. He gently held your hand and kneeled to kiss it, maintaining eye contact throughout.
“Kaeya, my dear.”
You were surprised to find him waiting for you outside the headquarters one day, handsome navy strands haloed in confidence, a delicate flower and perfumed letter in hand. Kaeya watched you read it in silence, his poem dedicated to you, requesting a date. You couldn’t help but smile at his charm, despite his sweaty palms as he awaited your answer. An accumulation of the little things; the bouquet of roses he bought you weekly, so you’d always have a fresh one, making sure you were always hydrated, his ability to make you laugh in trying times. You were both full of adoration, though he wouldn’t admit how invested he was. The only person who glimpsed the truth was Diluc. Kaeya rambled in his drunken stupor at the tavern, and Diluc sighed at the overdramatic sonnet. “My heart beats for her like no other. Will this be my fate? My Greek tragedy?” he mumbled through hiccups.
As your relationship blossomed, work withered. An emerging problem reared its ugly head. Your assignments consumed your daily life and dwindled the moments spent with Kaeya. In the beginning stages of dating he understood, exuding nothing but patience and encouraging words. He didn’t expect you to drop work for him, and he was willing to accommodate the hectic schedule. Romantic gestures were limited to light caresses or kisses, clandestine sessions in abandoned alleyways. Frequent dates reduced to a couple a week, then a month, then none. The worst instances were when you assured Kaeya you’d arrive, only to call him a couple hours later with a tired apology, still stuck at your office. You promised him you’d make time for yourself and practice self-care, but it was evident you weren’t listening to his advice. You were no stranger to quickies, kindly offering them to Kaeya if he ever needed “destressing”. But the captain was never a fan of rushed affairs. He wanted desperately to share extended time with you, and you had none to give. It became easier to lie than to admit how overworked you were.
Tumblr media
Kaeya didn’t come to headquarters today, but you recall the conversation from the previous night.
“Mm, I’m missing my little dove. Think you can come see me?” he said, tilting your chin up to meet his loving gaze.
“Of course. I don’t have a lot of work tomorrow so I should be done early.”
“Great. I’ll make dinner for us. Be at my place by 8, okay?” You agreed to the timeframe.
Now that you’re comprehending the incomplete documents strewn across your desk, you regret your conviction. You shouldered the weight of everyone in your division. It’s getting close to the date, and you’ve barely scratched the surface. You fumble for concentration, anchoring down to finish the rest of the list. You make haste and shove the papers at Hertha. I still have time to get there you thought. Glancing up at the clock as you dart out the building, your eyes widen at what it reads. 10:15 pm.
Fuck. You’re running now, skirt bouncing and bag rustling, navigating busy streets with an uneasy mind. Once again you promised, and once again you broke it. How could you be so careless? You catch your breath when your hand contacts the door. You relax before giving a few light knocks. The door swings open.
Kaeya’s hair is free from its usual constraints, draping down his back and shoulders, wispy bangs hugging his sharp features. He’s clearly pissed reclining against the doorframe. He stares at you with his arms folded in front of the parted button down that peaks into the muscular, scarred chest underneath.
“Kaeya, I-”
“Get inside.” He turns and walks to the kitchen. You follow him inside and take note of the cold portion of a beautiful plate—presumably your meal—sitting on the table. He swishes the nearly finished red wine before taking a sip. You search aimlessly for an acceptable excuse while he leans against the table with his hand, glass in the other, eyes trained to the floor. Each second of silence simmering makes your stomach knot tighter, and he lets you stand uncomfortably.
“I’m sorry, I... There were a few roads closed in the area. I had to take a different route.” you fib. He gazes at you, panning up and down before forcing a sarcastic smile.
“How unfortunate. Are these the same roads that made you three hours late?" His jaw tightens.
“It was pretty busy today-”
“I’m feeling generous tonight, so I'll give you one more chance to be honest.”
You sighed. “I’m so sorry. There’s been a lot of work lately. It’s not fair to you to deal with my problems.” He scoffs deeply, downing the rest of the glass and sets it on the table.
“If this isn’t working for you, I understand.”
“Oh? Are you suggesting a separation? Not even the gall to try and make it up to me?” he sneers.
“You’re handsome and people like you. It’s not hard to find other options.”
“If it’s not hard, why is the one thing I truly desire so difficult to hold? A petal drifting unpredictable wind, too quick to grasp.” He starts stalking towards you, relaxed but seemingly irritated. The contrast between his words and actions unnerves you.
“How many times must I tell you to take care of yourself, to not let them walk over you, to come to me if you need help?” He gets to you and snakes his calloused hand behind your neck, a firm grip. Yearning lips are inches from yours, his hair tickles your eyelashes.
“Why can’t you just listen to me, (Y/N)? Hmm?” He’s lenient, but you feel a shiver up your back and heat pooling in your stomach, nonetheless.
“I’ll try harder. I promise.” you say, barely above a whisper. The pad of his thumb swirls your cheek.
“I won’t entertain promises. Show me your dedication.”
“What do I do to prove it?” A sadistic grin grows across his face, and lips graze your ear, sultry voice coiling around the shell. Your breath stalls.
“Tonight, I’ll eat you up slowly-” Kaeya peppers soft kisses between the words against your jaw. “-savoring every. Little. Bite.” He trails down to your neck. You're melting in his hold, grabbing his robust arms for anything to stabilize you. "And when I’m picking you apart, and there’s tears in your eyes and you’re begging and you can’t take it anymore-” He drinks up your anticipation, an amused chuckle from the shudder prickling your skin.
“-you’ll sit there and obey me until I'm done. Like a good pet.”
Tumblr media
You’re stripped of everything besides your underwear in front of the restlessly eager man. Standing in the center of this candlelit room, you feel miles away from him as he sits fully clothed on the edge of the bed. He’s lax, legs spread with a nonchalant posture; they invite you to kneel between them. Sex with Kaeya was never like this. Though infrequent, your back-alley blowjobs were done with kindness and haste. It was one thing for Kaeya to ogle your mouthwatering figure, another in the humiliating state he constrains you to. Your hands are bound by leather handcuffs that clip to a chunky black collar on both sides, limiting the movement of your wrists to just centimeters away from your face. You could move if you tried to, but the collar locked and tightened around your neck the harder you struggled. In the middle was attached a dangling leash, empty of its owner.
The vibrating lace panties he put you in buzz agonizingly low against your clit, sending gentle bursts to the butt plug filling deep, foreign space in your body. You’re glutted, chafing your thighs together to numb the sweet ache dotting your core.
“C’mere dove.” Kaeya orders, his finger curls in a guiding motion. You take one step assuming his entreat, and he retorts with a tut.
“Aht aht, dogs don’t walk. Get on your knees and crawl to me.” Embarrassment overcomes you as you drop to your knees from the filthy demand. It’s degrading, having to crawl without the use of your arms. You scuffle with balance, and he takes pleasure in playing with the controller. Your rocking rear and wobbly legs find rhythm on the floor through the violent highs and lows of vibration. It was harder due to the position you stumbled in; the bullet teases you in the right spots. You finally reach him, resting your head on his knee, exhausted for what’s to come. He merely pats your head and uses the other to stifle the smug smirk.
“Good puppy. Look at me.” Suddenly, he wraps the leash around his hand and pulls in taut. It snaps your eyes to his lustful expression, a thick aura that encapsulates you, suffocates you in his command. Kaeya zips his pants down to spring his throbbing cock free, a dark brown gradient to the mushroom tip.
“Suck. If you let anything spill, I’ll punish you” he cooes. You lick the pre come away, fixating on the sensitive tip. His breathy sighs show appreciation. You lick in circular motions around it before lolling your tongue and taking all of him between your lips. His girth makes space in your mouth impossible until the head presses the back of your throat. “Ugh, fuck” he groans. Kaeya stands and pulls the leash towards him, enough to nuzzle your nose against his pubes. You gag and slobber over his balls from the constant pressure in your throat, and he keeps you there, watching the tears ball in your eyes, unfazed by your retching pleas. He keeps a firm grip on the back of your head.
“Can you take it?” It’s almost mocking, as if he can’t see the mascara that smears your cheeks and your sweaty, breathless figure. You nod anyway, eager to please. He hums approval before pulling out completely and hammering his length down your throat. His heavy balls smack your chin at a savage pace, and strings of spit connect your puffy lips to his shaft. It’s barbaric and your throat is raw from the impact, but he chases his high. You’re absolutely powerless, your hands can’t even push his thighs back. However, subconsciously it felt nice, to be out of control, at the mercy of someone else using you for their impulse. The whir in your soaking panties feels richer now, tangling in your lower back and clouding your senses. All you smell and feel is him, it was like you never worked a day in your life. Like you were made for this, and this alone. Obscene noises come from your squelching mouth and Kaeya’s broken moans. Fuck and yes are all he can handle through constant whimpers, and you feel him trembling toward his release. He tilts your head to get a better view of you, spit and tears mixed with strands of hair stuck to your skin. You were a mess. But his eyes are solely on you, drenched in adoration and pure love for your trust in him.
“I want this pretty face on me when I come” he whines and speeds up his thrusts before spurting hot, creamy ropes down your throat, painting your mouth white. He twitches wildly on your tongue till rest, and his guttural moans echo in your ears as you hollow your cheeks to suck him clean. A satisfying pop emerges when you free his tip, and he recollects himself. He somehow looks completely untouched, besides the sheen of sweat; the poise of a prince.
Once Kaeya comes to his senses, he eyes the evidence of wetness that soaks through your panties, along with drops of pre come you failed to notice. Truthfully, you tried hard to avoid spilling anything, but the sensations in both your back and front were dizzying. He drawls a dramatic sigh, and loosely fiddles with the leash.
“Didn’t I say not to spill anything?” His words are methodical, weaving enough vitriol to make your blood still at the upcoming punishment. “I’m sorr-”
“You made a mess. Clean it.” He drops the leash and waits. What you assumed to be a towel clean-up was quickly refuted as you felt the tension of his boot press on your upper back. With just enough weight, he forces your body down towards the fluids, arms crossed. You lick it up without complaint. “Good puppy” he praises.
Kaeya picks you up as if you’re featherlight and sets you on the edge of the bed on your stomach. You can’t see what he’s doing, and the silence frightens you. Immediately, the judder of the bullet increases significantly—not enough to make you come, but just enough to torment. You attempt to sway from undying heat between your legs, yet the static overtakes. Unbeknownst to you, the butt plug begins to vibrate, as well. You whine and arch your back involuntarily. You finally hear a deep chuckle from Kaeya. His fingers graze your sopping underwear.
“So naughty, you got like this just from sucking me off?” He pushes the bullet harshly against you. You mewl from the feeling. “Please Kaeya, it’s too much.”
“Shh, I know, I know. We still have a long way to go.” he soothes. He spreads your ass to reveal more area, and he’s hushed to an alluring whisper in your ear. “(Y/N). I’m going to spank you. And each time I do, you’ll count. One, thank you. Two, thank you. Up to sixteen. Understand?”
“Yes” you rasped.
“Good girl.”
Kaeya massages your backside and prepares a slap. His palm crashes sharply on one with a resounding crack. Blazing surge sprawls across the whole cheek, but you manage to stay afloat. “One, thank you.” He promptly delivers another, a staggering strike to match the other cheek. “Two, thank you” you hissed. He kneads the smoldering dough in his hands and smiles at the juices stuck to your inner thighs.
“Such a pervert. You’re not enjoying this, are you?” he teases. The lines of pleasure and pain blurred for you long before. The crackling fire of his hand swatting your ass makes you cry out. He’s brutal, and the grip you have on his sheets colors your knuckles white. You endure delicious thwacks with a tender bottom all the way through thirteen. Your malleable mind forgets to count past that, forgets your place. Kaeya feigns hurt. “Am I that forgettable? Should we start over?” A shudder trails down your back.
“M’no, Kaeya ple-ase. ‘M sorry.” you stammer. He swipes your tears with his thumb and licks it. “I’m touched by your tears” he groans. He moves back to your searing bottom, digging crescent shaped indents into the welted flesh with his nails.
“Do you know why I had you count to sixteen?”
“N-no...”
A low hmph. “That’s the number of dates you missed.” You go pale for a second. “It won’t happen again, Kaeya. Please!” you beg. The need for release ruins your rational thoughts, and he can taste your desperation. “Please what, dove?” He plays ignorance. “Tell me exactly what you want.” He caresses your face lovingly, despite his cruelty.
“Wanna come, I need it so bad, Kaeya.” His name rolling off your tongue in lewd fervor makes his length constrict in his pants. You’re putty in his presence, and he delights in molding you to his wishes.
"Are you worthy of it?" he taunts. Fresh tears brim your eyes, and he can’t fight back the snicker in his throat. He walks away from you, and you’re left alone until you feel the mattress give way under his knee. What little sight you had in front of you is robbed by the silky black blindfold pulling stiff on your eyes. “Too tight?”
“A little.” He loosens it a bit and kisses your temple. Suddenly, a sphere makes contact with your lips, and you open. The ball gag secures around the back of your head, and you’re already salivating from the stretch of your jaw.
“You know what, I’ll let you come.” he lulled. You can’t hear the malicious tinge in his words, and he swiftly turns both vibrators up to a harrowing speed at the same time. A strangled moan gets caught in your throat and you quiver and lurch over. He spanks your sore behind in response.
“Keep your back arched. I want a perfect view” he husks. You use the stamina you have left to stay in that position. Your hips are unconsciously rutting against the bullet, and the ecstasy lapping at your swollen clit sends trails of fire up your stomach. Kaeya watches the saturated outline of your convulsing vulva, the honeyed, muffled moans unending and palms his erection.
“I’m sorry, this must be so hard for you” he soothes. “Almost as hard as it was for me to hear you lie so blatantly.” Kaeya wasn’t a man that held grudges, but he took amusement in your reactions. All he can think about is breaking you, with each touch and kiss; so that you travel through heaven and hell, drowning in desire until he carries you out. Your eyes roll to the back of your head, and you come hard, hole fluttering around nothing with electricity squirming in your bones. However, the pressure doesn’t stop, it seems to vibrate faster as you buck and cry. “Oops, wrong setting.” He turns it up higher, the bastard. It rips through your orgasm, already approaching another and you can’t take the sting. “Tell me if it’s too much” he sneers. Your hands jolt and snap back to the collar.
“I’ll turn it off later, I’m kind of busy right now. You know, work and stuff.” What? He wouldn’t leave you like this, right? Undecipherable noises bounce around the gag, but none persuade him. Footsteps get quieter, then the door shuts.
You can’t look or beg for Kaeya, and tears begin to stain the blindfold. Buzzing roars in your ears, your limbs are too weak to hold up and you can barely breathe. Your thighs shake from sick passion, and you come undone again over the persistent toys. The twenty minutes he was gone felt like hours. Your muffled sobs are uncontrollable, come cascading down your legs and spit dribbles from your lips. You aren’t sure how many times you came before he got back.
The Archons must have shown mercy; the vibrations stopped. You hear that suave voice resounding in your brain.
“I think you’ve earned a break.” he says, freeing the panties from you. The plug steadily glides out of your pulsing ring, and he removes the blindfold. Kaeya is the first thing you see, and for a moment he shines like royalty. The gag comes off and you’re babbling Kaeya’s name over and over like a chant, a devoted disciple. He cradles your face and hushes you.
“It’s okay, I’m here.” He flips you on your back. You’re in a daze gazing at him but his attention is lowered to your spread legs, slabbering at the slippery aftermath of his abandonment.
“Beautiful. A living work of art” he whispered. His mask dissolves before you. He reaches for one of the red candles glowing vividly on his nightstand and returns with the wax-leaking stick. You share a soft kiss, warm and pure while he tilts the candle over your chest. He’s careful with the course and allows it to dance across your breasts, down your sternum and above your pelvis. Each crimson plop and fleck are its own singing thrill, but your awareness is diverted to his wanton kisses, the nips on your bottom lip. Heat reignites your core. Once he blows out the candle, he smudges French kisses down your neck, tracing the pattern of the wax to subdue the burn. “You’re flawless” he breaths against your nipple. He sucks one while pinching the other, the occasional bite on your slightly bruising skin makes you wince. He slides off the bed and starts stripping with an insatiable thirst that longed to be inside you, shirt and pants thrown about. In one swoop, he grabs your thighs and pulls you to the edge.
“If I uncuff you, will you behave?” You nod frantically with the clinking metal, and he detaches the restraints. He brings your legs over his shoulder, and you feel the cockhead prodding your slit. Kaeya sinks his tip into you, and you’re suddenly overcome with frenetic throbbing that ripples through your hypersensitive clit. “W-wait, Kaeya-” You don’t have nearly enough strength to protest when you grab his wrists settled on your waist—he’s determined to fuck it out of you. “Mm, just a little more” He’s craving, his veins rub your walls all the way to the base. With his balls flush, he pulls out and drives into you. The first pump sends a flaming shock through your body, an abyssal fall you succumb to. You can’t register the erotic screams or pleasant shock of Kaeya as a stream of liquid coats your bodies and drenches the sheets. Your hysterical sobs and innocent sorry’s are music to his ears, better than any melody in Teyvat. He rubs circles on your lower belly and starts again at an unrelenting pace. “I-I can’t Kaeya, ‘m coming so hard.” you wail, writhing from the deep strokes coaxing your g-spot. Your stomach quakes and you grip him like a vice, he can’t stop the feral urge. “Fuck- aww, sweetie. I know, I know. Can you do another one, for me?” He tries to keep his composure, but his voice is bordering unhinged, dying to see you squirt again. Kaeya's chest pins yours and he pummels your cunt with your shaky legs locked around him. Your nails latch onto his back and you weep into his shoulder. The emotion is too intense; your heart thrums viciously in your ears.
“You’re my pretty little fuck toy, hmm?” he stutters through thrusts. “Just lay here and take my cock. Quit your job. Be mine entirely.” Loud plap’s accompany his silent plea, and you feel another orgasm boiling. His palm pressing on your womb makes you incoherent and he chuckles. “Aw sweetie, it feels too good?” he mocks. You touch foreheads. You’re both teeming, waiting for each other. “Give it to me. Come on my cock like a good slut” he demands. Wave after relentless wave splinters you, and the gushing sprinkler covers him exactly like he wanted. Kaeya moans at the sight. “Shit, ‘m coming.” He pursues his sputtering hips, shooting thick globs that greedily crowd your sex.
Kaeya breathes heavily as he comes down from his peak twitching inside. You still tremble sporadically in his arms. He rubs your back, placing calming kisses all over your face. “You alright, pretty girl?” You’re edging on unconsciousness. He stays with you until you gather responsiveness.
When you wake, the collar is off, and you identify concern in his eyes. “You weren't this scared when you were killing me” you murmur quietly. Kaeya flashes a genuine smile. “If you died from good sex, that’d be quite the compliment on my part.” He props you into his lap facing him, and you're reposed on his chest. He pats your hair, staring off into nothing and everything.
“I’d much rather have you in pieces. Because I’m the only one that can put you back together.” It was a passing thought, one that shouldn’t be said out loud. It churns in your gut, and you aren’t sure why.
“You worked so hard today. Let’s take a bath, okay?”

tipsy — continuation [rafayel x fem! reader]
mdni; 18+ only. a smut continuation of rafayel’s 4-star “tipsy” card, contains spoilers. i absolutely lost my mind listening to this card, especially the ending. just more proof that this man will always have my heart. warnings for; pet names, breast play (nipple sucking), fingering, protected p in v sex. ~2k words. link to ao3!
Tumblr media
there is an unspoken tension between the two of you as rafayel walks you home from your night of drinking and delicious food. you fiddle with the necklace between your forefinger and thumb, thinking about the events that just transpired. the kissing, the pleading to not forget him, and man, you really didn’t want this night to end. sure, he’d wait for your calls every weekend and his ego was stoked to find you had printed adorable pictures of the two of you to keep close, but it was never the same. distance was agony for rafayel. distance meant forgetting, and forgetting meant loss.
but as he walks you to your door, offering you a tender goodbye kiss, you want more. perhaps it was the alcohol still lingering in your veins that made you bold, or maybe it was an admission of pent up feelings. you had skirted around labels for far too long, and now rafayel had something to prove. he wanted to make it so you’d never forget. in those long weeks of training, it’d be the thought of him and this night that you touched yourself to. he’s still a gentleman though, “are you sure love? don’t wanna…” he mumbles, before he’s cut off by another kiss. “i’m sure raf,” you whisper against his lips. “i wanna remember you… remember, this” she pleas quietly. that was the permission he was waiting for.
clothes were discarded clumsily on the floor of your bedroom, but rafayel didn’t want to rush this. not after he had been fantasizing about it for so long. not only did he want you to remember, but he wanted to never forget. every sound, every wrinkle in your face, the way your eyes gazed up at him, and how you responded to his touch. he wanted it burned into his memory. “you’re so beautiful,” he hiccups sincerely, before he trails soft kisses down your neck and you can tell that he really means it. he admired you more than any luxurious art piece. you squirm as you feel his teeth bite into the flesh on the side of your neck, marking you with not-so-subtle purple hue as evidence.
a mewl leaves your pursed lips as your impatient hands trace shapes across his moles on his bare chest. he looked like a god in this lighting, all flushed and needy from alcohol mixed with lust. As they eventually trail to his waistband, he croaks out, “wait!” You immediately rip your hands back, stopping your movements as concern etches into your features. he buries his face in the crook of your neck, nipping at your earlobe as he whispers, “I just don’t wanna rush mi amor.” You nod in understanding, moving your hands to play with his hair instead as his lips continue to trail down between the valley of your breasts, where your new locket lies.
His hands come to caress the soft flesh, as you let out a milquetoast moan in response. “You’re perfect darling, just perfect,” he whispers, before gently suckling a pert nipple into his mouth and moving his other hand to massage the free one. “Rafayel,” you whine, tugging softly at the hair on the nape of his neck. he lets your nipple go with a wet pop, a trail of sloppy kisses headed to your neglected one. “Doing so good for me honey, just relax,” he coos. The praise makes your head spin, and you’re downright dizzy when his spare hand begins to trail lower. Just a singular finger parts you, feeling the gathered wetness from a night of flirting and romantic gestures. You were already dripping onto your sheets in anticipation; your body saying what your tongue never could. Upon feeling this, Rafayel lets out a low groan, his black pupils swallowing his purple irises.
His touch is hesitant at first, careful as he learns what makes you feel best. His mouth relents its assault on your other nipple, so in exchange he can watch your facial expressions. When the pad of his thumb finally reaches your throbbing clit, you let out an involuntary squeak, clapping your hand over your mouth in embarrassment. Rafayel observes you quizzically, raising an eyebrow at your response. He continues his gentle ministrations on your clit as his free hand reaches to remove it from your mouth. “You wouldn’t deprive me of such wondrous sounds, would you?” He taunts, interlacing his fingers with yours and pinning it to the mattress. Entirely at his mercy, you let out a soft whine, panting as he draws this out agonizingly slow. You find yourself babbling and begging for him to touch you at this point, the fire in your belly a brilliant blaze by now.
He’s benevolent for now, swallowing your sounds in a searing kiss. His tongue meshes with yours, licking into the recesses of your mouth and tasting the faint hint of alcohol on your tongue. His fingers also get impatient, the first one testing the waters and sliding in easily. You squeeze around it, desperate to feel more. He chuckles softly, his ego inflated, “Already ready for more?” You couldn’t tell if it was a genuine question or a taunt, but you eagerly nod your head in response. A broken plea of ‘please’ leaves your parted lips. And he is done denying you.
He slides a second finger into your pliancy, curling his fingers against the spongey sector. He realizes he was probably in the right spot as after a few careful strokes to your clit and the curve of his fingers brought your first orgasm crashing through you like a tidal wave. White heat blinds you as the flames lick down your every nerve ending, causing you to cry out and claw at the exposed skin on his back - marking him as he had marked you. “Such a good girl. Gods, you’re gorgeous,” he grins, gently removing his fingers from you. He makes sure you watch as he licks his hand clean, humming at the sweet taste of your orgasm. It beat the expensive dinner by a landslide.
As you recover from the aftershocks of your orgasm, panting and coated in a thin sheen of sweat, rafayel gently takes your entertained hand and leads it to the hem of his boxers. His way of granting you permission to undress him. Your effects on him already pertinent as you notice the small wet patch from the precum he had been leaking, and his cock straining against the taut fabric of his boxer briefs. Your hands tremble with desire as you strip him, admiring him in full nudity as you would a fine sculpture. Words fail you, but he can see the attraction in your eyes and he offers you a sincere smile in return. With a few strokes of his hand, he rolls a condom down his erection. You tried to protest, insisting you were protected, but Rafayel was ever stubborn - “Can’t have my darling bodyguard getting pregnant before a big training. Wouldn’t be able to support her properly. We can always reunite like this again,” he trails off, cocky undertone suddenly gone, “if you remember… or want too,” he whispers.
You gently take your free hand, cupping his downtrodden chin and lifting it to meet your sincere gaze. “Of course I do Rafayel,” you say firmly, trying to string together your hazy braincells to form a coherent thought. He smiles, though it still has a hint of forlornness - a hidden longing he won’t quite vocalize. “One night at a time,” he says, nuzzling his nose against yours as he aligns himself with your entrance. “Ready?” He asks for confirmation, and with an encouraging nod, he slowly sheathes himself inside you. Your cacophony of groans ringing out against your bedroom walls as you both relish the feeling.
He gazes at you with heavy lids as you adjust to the stretch, a silent request of asking if he can move yet. You take the opportunity to pull his swollen lips into another tender kiss, almost to reassure his microscopic worries. You pull apart just enough to vocalize that he could move. He rocks his hips back, crashing them back into you. The first stroke alone electrifies your senses, a low groan escaping from your chest as you gaze at him through long lashes. “Angel, you can’t look at me like that,” Rafayel begins to groan, “I won’t last.” But you can’t help it, it’s as if the Gods had molded him to specifically to fit (and fill) you.
At this point, you’re a bit too fucked out to even respond properly, most of the sounds leaving you as incoherent babbles of pleasure. With ease, Rafayel had twisted and molded you into positions no other man had dreamed of putting you in, each one feeling better than the last. You got glimpses of your legs on his shoulders, around his waist, and at one point your face was pressed against the pillow. He had the stamina of an Olympic swimmer and then some. If it was his goal for you to remember this, you certainly would. Your body would bare the marks of the barrage of his affections for the next few days, but the scenes itself would replay in your mind like a movie. It was safe to say, you were thoroughly ruined for anyone else, but you preferred it that way. They would never be your Rafayel.
“I’m close,” he huffs, pressing his forehead against yours and pulling you out of your haze. You nod in acknowledgment as your hands continue to cling to him, even more dejected that you would have to let him go so soon. “Together,” you manage to choke out, interlacing your fingers with his. And with a few more gyrations of his hips, you’re both finish - clinging to one another like a desperate lifeline, not ready to say goodbye, even if only temporary. You bask in the afterglow for a few moments. The only sound echoing off the walls was your heavy breathing as you try to catch your breath after what had just occurred. Rafayel is still whispering praises, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear, and kissing in between breaths as he begins to start the aftercare.
He helps you to the shower, an arm wrapped around your waist as he starts the warm water. “I’ll be right behind you,” he promises, before he strips the bedsheets for you and replaces them with fresh ones from the dryer. Then he steps inside the shower where he notices a few stray tears on your cheeks. Concern washes over him as he holds you close. He would ask you what’s wrong, but he already knew. Things felt different now between you both, and to leave tomorrow leave a pit in both of your stomachs. “I promise I’ll wait for you,” he mumbles into your hair. “I’ll always wait for you,” he reassures as he helps clean you off with a soothing soap lather.
By the time you’re back in bed, you’re exhausted. Your eyelids fight to stay open if only to continue to gaze at Rafayel for a few moments longer. “Sleep beloved,” he hums, petting your hair softly. He doesn’t look exhausted at all, content to just be beside you. “But I —“ you start to protest, but are immediately silenced with a goodnight kiss. “I’ll wake you in the morning to take you training,” he promises, as you finally succumb to sleep, curled up in his embrace.
Rafayel doesn’t sleep much that night, talking to the moon and hoping that it hears him. Hoping that if there isn’t some disgraced God out there listening, that somehow she would remember this. That she would remember him. This is especially heightened as he drops her off at the bus stop, wiping the stray tear from your cheek. “Train well Miss Bodyguard,” he says in your ear, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead before allowing you to climb on the bus. “I’ll see you as soon as I get back,” you promise, waving to him as the bus takes off for your hunting trip.

A WEDDING AND A PROPOSAL

[ pairing: idol!seungwan x fem!reader

word count: about 2k ]
song recommendation: kidult by seventeen
Tumblr media
“Honey, can you help me with the tie?”
You turned around, just to be greeted by your boyfriend’s head sticking out of the bathroom, his brown hair slightly longer than usual. He insisted on keeping them that way before Jeonghan’s wedding. It was to honour his long hair - Seungkwan’s words, not yours.
“So many years of wearing ties, and you still don’t know how to tie them?” You looked at him suspiciously, gently laying your dress back on the bed. “Maybe I just want my beautiful girlfriend to tie it for me?” He challenged you, sending you a smile that could literally light up any of your darkest days. You sighed in defeat, shaking your head at your boyfriend’s silliness, that you’d never get tired of.
“Come here then, handsome,” you laughed, gesturing to him to come out of the bathroom. He quickly grabbed the tie from the counter, and happily strode over to where you were standing next to the bed. He wasn’t even properly dressed yet, his collar uneven, and hair messy, still - Seungkwan looked like the brightest star in the moonlit sky, with his smile and adorably scrunched eyes.
“Who do you think will cry today?” he asked with a mischievous spark in his voice, clearly remembering how you bawled your eyes out at the last wedding you attended (and that wasn't even a wedding of anyone close to you). You rolled your eyes, tightening the tie around his neck. “You and Cheol.”
Seungkwan huffed, shaking his head, to which you gently grabbed his chin to hold him still. “Don’t move, or we’ll be late,” you murmured, securing the knot. “Unless you want to be murdered by Jeonghan's future wife,” you added. You fixed the collar of the white shirt he was wearing, your finger skillfully smoothing out the material, making sure everything was looking perfect.
“Okay, you’re ready to go,” you smiled, and put your hand on his left peck, just where his heart was beating.
“You’re the best,” Seungkwan grabbed the back of your head, and quickly pecked your forehead, before disappearing in the bathroom again, probably to put on the suit jacket, which lapels matched the colour of your dress - a bit cheesy, but cute nonetheless.
You sat on the bed, running your hand over the silky material of your dress. When did it happen that suddenly all the boys entered into serious relationships, even Mingyu, who, despite his good heart, could never find "the one", and now the only thing he could talk about was his girlfriend. And now there's a wedding on top of that? Time seemed to fly by way too fast and you didn't know whether you wanted to cry or laugh about it.
Sometimes it was hard to make the most of your time with Seungkwan, considering how much he was away due to work, but you were still grateful for your relationship.
Now, it's just... if each of them was so invested in their relationships, where did your relationship with Seungkwan lead?
“Get your cute ass into that dress, or we’ll seriously be late,” your boyfriend peeked out of the bathroom. “And I have plans later for tonight, so I’d appreciate not getting killed by Jeonghan’s bride.”
[...]
“I told you you and Cheol would end up crying,” you rubbed Seungwan’s arm, who was still shaking with quiet sobs, tears streaming down his face. You wrapped your other arm around his waist so it’d be easier for you to guide him through the venue to find your table. “I w-wasn’t expecting h-his vows to b-be so beautiful,” he hiccuped with every other word, his chest quickly heaving up and down.
“Calm down, baby. It’s okay now,” you tightened the arm you had around his waist, stroking your thumb over his hip.
Soon, you found yourselves at a table with Seungcheol, Wonwoo, Chan and their girlfriends, and none of the boys seemed to be doing better than Seungkwan. Maybe except for Wonwoo who was blinking so hard you were sure his eyes were hurting, but the poor boy would not let a tear fall.
“Seungkwan,” Chan whined, pulling your boyfriend into a hug, throwing his arms around Seungkwan’s neck. “Chan,” your boyfriend responded, and both boys burst into dramatic cries again, which left Cheol bawling his eyes out again with his girlfriend quickly trying to wipe away the tears that were streaming down his cheeks. “Excuse me for a moment, I'll be right back,” Wonwoo cleared his throat, his face turning red.
You looked around the other tables and noticed that every single one of them was crying. “How are we supposed to go through this twelve more times?” Wonwoo’s girlfriend asked, rubbing her temples.
“I swear if Seugcheol is going to cry like that at our wedding, I’m going to divorce him immediately,” you all laughed, drowning out the noises of your men crying like little children.
“It’s crazy though, don’t you think? I remember clearly when Seungkwan told me that Jeonghan finally found a girlfriend,” you said, looking at the bride and groom who stood at the front of the venue, receiving congratulations from various people. “And now they are married.”
“Who do you think will be the next?” Chan’s girlfriend asked, taking a sip of her drink. The moment she asked that question, a strange expression appeared on the faces of the rest of the girls, but you didn't know if it was because of the embarrassment because of the question or if there was something else going on.
“Definitely not me and Wonwoo. But I might have an idea who might be next.”
You didn't get to ask who she was talking about because you were interrupted by the tapping on the champagne glass, echoing through the whole venue. "Oh God, the boys will give their speeches now," Seugcheol's girlfriend sighed. “How did we end up with such crybabies," you muttered, taking a huge sip of your champagne.
[...]
“What did you think about the speech?” Seungkwan asked, adjusting his hand to rest gently on your waist so that Jeonghan's grandmother wouldn't find it inappropriate. You knew she was watching you because she was sitting right in front of you where you were dancing on the dance floor. Mingyu has already been instructed on how to properly hold his partner. “I think it was perfect Kwannie,” you smiled, brushing the hair that had fallen over his eyes.
Your hand settled on his cheek, and in that moment you couldn't have asked for anything more - you in the company of your friends and in the arms of your loved one, at the wedding of one of the most important people for Seungkwan, celebrating a new chapter of Jeonghan’s and the boys' lives.
There was literally nothing that would make you feel happier.
As one of the slow songs got to an end, and you and Seungkwan exchanged a quick peck on the lips, Joshua hopped on the stage, taking the microphone, greeting all of the guests. “I hope you won’t mind, but we’d like to dedicate a song to our best friend Jeonghan,” he said, waving at all of the boys to join him on the stage.
“You know, even though we’re all adults now, we’d like to remind ourselves and everyone else in this room that we’re still children at heart and that we should never forget about that,” he continued, and you already heard a couple of sniffles from the people around you.
“Jeonghan, thank you for being our friend since we were all little kids,” he said, raising his glass in a toast.
Kidult has always been one of your favourite songs, and it was one of the few songs that always made you want to cry. Now, it was no different. From the moment Wonwoo started singing, tears came to your eyes and you had to quickly wipe them away so they wouldn't ruin your makeup.
Suddenly you felt someone intertwine their arm with yours and, and looking to the side, you noticed Jun’s crying girlfriend, who looked exactly how you felt. Laying your head on hers, you stood there in an embrace, listening to the angelic voices of your men, tears also streaming down their cheeks.
After all the boys finished crying into each other's arms (Wonwoo too) and congratulated Jeonghan for the thousandth time, Seungkwan returned to you still standing on the dance floor, too stunned and emotional to move on your own, grabbed your hand and pulled you towards the exit.
“Where are you taking me?” You laughed, trying to keep up with your boyfriend.
He guided you to the back door, opening it for you so you could go first. As soon as you stepped out, a gentle breeze picked up, carrying with it the sweet fragrance of blooming flowers and freshly cut grass, accompanying the beautiful sky that was transformed into a beautiful blend of soft pink, orange and purple hues, signalling the arrival of a spring evening.
The world seemed to slow down, and everything seemed to be at peace. The sounds from the venue were muffled and all that was left was you and Seungkwan.
“It’s so beautiful, don’t you think?” You asked, inhaling the fresh air. When you didn't hear back from your boyfriend, you turned to ask if he was alright, only to find him down on one knee with a small box in his hand. “What are you doing Seungkwan?” Your palms automatically sweated, your breath catching in your throat. It wasn't what you thought, was it? Seungkwan wouldn't propose at his friend's wedding. Right?
“Please, don’t freak out,” he reached for your trembling hand. “You have no idea how many months I've been planning to do this,” Seungkwan laughed, intertwining your fingers. “It reminds me a bit of how I tried telling you that I loved you for the first time. It took me so many months to finally say it. But I knew I loved you from the day I met you. Call me an idiot, but baby, I fell in love with you at first sight. And from that day on, I haven't been able to think about anything other than you. You are the first thing on my mind in the morning and the last before I fall asleep,” tears slowly started cascading down his face, his breath getting more ragged.
“And I would like to wake up with you every day, every morning I would like to see your face, as it is now and as it will be in forty and sixty years, when our children will sleep in their cribs next to us, when they will have their own rooms and when they will no longer be with us because they will have their own families. I would like to spend my whole life with you, to be with you in sadness, joy, sickness and in health.”
“I can’t imagine my life without you in it, so would you do me this pleasure,” Seungkwan opened the small box he was holding this whole time, revealing a beautiful silver ring with two stones. Blinking the tears out of your eyes, you covered your mouth seeing that they were your birth stones connected as one. “And become my wife.”
Dropping down to your knees before the only man that mattered in your life, you took in his rosy tear-stained cheeks, his brown ruffled by the wind, and his sparkly eyes, knowing that you were just about to agree on spending your eternity with him.
And you wouldn’t want it any other way.
“Yes,” you whispered, grabbing Seungkwan’s face between your hands. “In every lifetime we get to have together Boo Seungkwan, I will always say yes,” you let your tears fall freely, as you leaned in to kiss your fiancé. He grabbed the back of your head, pulling you closer, kissing you with every fibre he had in his body, like he was trying to say “I love you” in every way possible.
Before he was able to pull out the ring from the box though, suddenly a group of people - your friends, started cheering and clapping, as a camera’s flash went off. You tore your gaze from Seungkwan and looked behind him, where everyone was huddled into a small group, holding each other close.
“Were you there the entire time?” You asked, as Seungkwan helped you up from your knees. “You bet we were,” Soonyoung said, putting an arm around Seungkwan, looking at him fondly. Everyone went out to the terrace you were on, congratulating you one by one (Seungcheol and Seokmin started bawling their eyes out again).
“Are you not angry we stole your spotlight?” you turned to Jeonghan, wiping the tears off your face. “I don't need any spotlight as long as I have my wife by my side,” he said, gazing down lovingly at his bride.
You looked around you and smiled at the fact that this was your future - next to Seungkwan, together with your friends. You didn't know what the future would hold for you, but as long as you were together, everything would be fine.

Question, What Question? (Part 2)
Hiccup Haddock x Reader
Summary: You and Hiccup go out to figure out where that smokes coming from. You decide to return back to Berk to tell Stoick what you saw. However, Stoick had other plans in mind.
No warnings
Just fairly short.
Tumblr media
————————————————————
You and Hiccup neared the large plume of smoke, both having no idea what it could be, and your concern growing. Once you had neared the fire, you saw what looked to be a broken up fort with large pieces of ice staggered throughout it.
You stared at the massive amounts of damage and immediately went to turn around,
“Not my circus, not my monkeys.” You said only for Hiccup to pop back up in front of you.
“Come on, let’s just check it out, what’s the worst that could-“
“Do not finish that sentence.” You warned, sending a glare his way. The last thing you needed right now was for him to jinx anything. Hiccup continued to stare at you pleadingly, not giving up on the topic before you sighed, finally agreeing to tag along as he went over to explore.
“What do you think could have done all this?” Hiccup asked, not taking his eyes off the teal ice structure before him.
“How would I know, you're the dragon guy.” You answered sarcastically to which Hiccup rolled his eyes and responded,
“Well… no Fishlegs would be the dragon guy. I’m more of a… dragon tamer.”
“Dragon guy, dragon tamer, dragon master, does any of that truly matter right now?”
“Yeah, Well the distinction is very important the dragon g-“ Before Hiccup could say anything else you had noticed trappers on deck of the dismantled fort below, aiming right at him.
“Hiccup, look out!” You shouted, trying to help block the netting that was sent his way, and instead you had gotten your own dragon caught. Your dragon was heading straight for the ground, and you could barely hang on as it was falling a lot faster than you were. You very quickly lost a hold of the leather pieces you used to steer it and you were sent flying into the air.
You screamed as you continued to plummet towards the ground but thankfully Toothless was able to catch you safely. You all quickly made your way down to the deck with the dragon trappers, attempting to run over to free your dragon, only to be stopped by the men who now surrounded you.
“Give me back my dragon!” You shouted, as a very muscular man walked over, gazing at your dragon with interest and a gloating smile. You weren’t gonna lie, he would’ve been a bit more attractive had he not just placed his entire foot on your dragon's face.
“Now what good would that do me?” He asked rhetorically, smirking as he finally looked towards you and Hiccup, realizing you were accompanied by a Night Fury.
“Well soil my britches, that there’s a Night Fury.” He stated, pointing his knife towards Toothless.
“Good job, you can see, now can I get my dragon back?” You asked, clearly not wanting to take no for an answer.
“Sorry love, no can do. Not after your friend from last night blew this place to bits. This dragon now belongs to Drago Bludvist.” The man claimed. You sneered at the mocking pet name he had given you, not even noticing the name he had mentioned.
“Drago who now? Does anything you say make sense?” Hiccup asked jokingly, gesturing dramatically with his arms and shoulders as he looked back at you.
“You think we did this? What kind of creature is even capable of this?” You asked, astonished that someone could even think to blame you for such a massive feat.
“Who even are you?” Hiccup asked, trying to figure out what was going on because at the moment you both were just an entire bundle of confusion and questions and this conversation was not helping.
“Where are my manners? I'm Eret, son of Eret.” He introduced, but you stopped paying attention to everything else he was saying as you watched his movements. You noticed as his eyes darted to somewhere just behind you, his hand pointing directly at you.
“Uh Hiccup… we might want to-“ you began to whisper to him,
“Way ahead of you.” He whispered back, backing up.
“You’re Eret, this is Toothless, and we’re leaving!” Hiccup said in a joking manner, hopping on Toothless, “Now!” He shouted, signaling Toothless to shoot a blast at the ice ledge just above the trappers, safely freeing your dragon whom you hopped on right away and rode off.
“What was that all about?” You asked, not really expecting an answer from Hiccup who seemed pretty lost in thought. You decided to just drop the conversation and let him think through whatever he was thinking about at that point.
You both made your way back to Berk, landing in front of the Forge with a multitude of people cheering that Hiccup had returned.
“Ah, the Pride of Berk!” Stoick cheered as he saw Hiccup, then he looked over and noticed that you were with him. His mind was clearly on a different topic than you two as he quickly asked,
“So… how did it go?”
You looked towards the man confused.
“How did what go?” You asked, there was no way he could’ve known about your encounter yet, and even if he did he would’ve known it didn’t go all that well.
“You know… the question? What did you say?” He asked jovially. One could almost compare him to a very intimidating red headed Santa Claus.
“What… question?” You asked, turning to Hiccup who seemed to just realize what Stoick was talking about.
“I- Dad, I haven’t asked it yet.” Hiccup butted in through a very clenched smile, he was clearly keeping something from you and it would be wrong to not want to know what it was at this point. You could make assumptions but most of the options you had in mind you didn’t want to jump to on the high chance you would just be getting your hopes up.
“Hiccup, if you’re going to be Chief you need to-“ Stoick began only to be cut off by Hiccup yet again.
“Dad, that’s not the focus here. I'm trying to tell you about something that happened. It’s really important.” He said, trying to deter his father from continuing the conversation.
“Well this is important too, son. If you’re to lead, you should lead with someone by your side.” Stoick laughed, pushing Hiccup into you in a very well meaning way. Hiccup was clearly very flustered by this conversation, but you were still a few steps behind.
“Dad I don’t think-“ Hiccup began only to be cut off by you,
“Is that… is your question what I think it is? Is that the question you were going to ask? You want me to-“ You began, only for Hiccup to cut you off instead.
“Listen, we can talk this out later… preferably with less people around. This is not how I wanted you to find out.” Hiccup sighed, dragging his hands down his face as he groaned, clearly stressed about the current situation. You stood still as Hiccup followed his dad into the forge, explaining what you both had encountered but you simply watched, unmoving, as if you were in a trance.
Was he going to ask…
To marry you???

leon kennedy x f!reader word count; 1,760 warnings; suggestive ending, set in a brothel, reader is a sex worker, leon is kind of an idiot! summary; everything about this was a bad idea. leon disobeying orders, leon walking into a brothel, leon following a woman up to her bedroom...
Tumblr media
1946
“You look like you shouldn’t be here, stranger.”
Leon turned towards the staircase where a woman leaned with her back against the railing, cigarette clutched between her middle and forefinger. She wore a tight-fitted black dress, the silky material parted on her upper thigh, the straps slipping from her shoulders down to her elbows. Leon circled his hand around the watch on his opposite wrist, peering around the empty foyer for anyone else who may be listening.
“S’ just me, honey,” she said behind her cigarette, prying it away from her mouth, blowing her smoke. “All the other girls are working.”
Leon let his gaze settle back on the woman on the staircase and she blinked at him, an arm crossed just below her breasts, her opposite elbow resting against it. She rolled her cigarette between her knuckles, waiting for his response.
He cleared his throat, “technically, miss, I shouldn’t be here.” She raised her eyebrows at this, taking a long drag of her cigarette as he continued. “I’m looking for… someone.”
The woman hummed against her cigarette, glimpsing at the handsome agent as he cautiously approached. She looked him up and down— from his slicked back dark blonde hair, to the brow dipped over his sharp stare, down to the maroon tie tucked neatly into the gray vest worn over his broad chest. Her eyes lowered to the rolled sleeves of his white collared shirt, to the forearms where veins were practically bulging from.
He was definitely the kind of stranger they didn’t get very often here at the whorehouse and she knew it was wrong to gawk but fuck, he was the most gorgeous man she’d sworn she’d ever seen.
Her gaze dared to venture lower to his belt where a bulky, golden badge rested on his hip— shit. He really shouldn’t be here.
“That someone sure seems like they’re in a lot of trouble,” she said, rolling her cigarette between her fingers again. “For someone like you to wander in here without any sort of warrant.”
Leon glanced around the foyer again, ensuring nobody was eavesdropping in on the conversation. Fuck, he knew this wasn’t a good idea, going against orders. But he had a lead on the fucking guy, he saw him walk in here with his own eyes. He’d be crazy to let such a lead go to waste, absolutely insane.
Banging could be heard in the room just in front of him and a woman’s name echoed behind the closed door, the woman on the stairs stiffened. Leon glanced between her and the door as she nodded towards the badge on his hip.
“Might wanna put that away, officer,” she advised. “Carol’s a drunk with a loud mouth.”
Leon peered down at the badge and cursed beneath his breath as he hastily tore it off his belt, tucking it in his back pocket just as the door swung open. A thin, pale-skinned woman stumbled in, a bottle of whiskey in one hand, a shot glass in the other. The woman, who Leon could only assume was Carol, looked between him and the woman on the stairs, hiccuping.
“The fuck are you still doing down here?” Carol slurred, waving her whiskey bottle towards the stairs. “You don’t talk in my foyer, you go to your room, fuck, and bring me my goddamn money.”
Warmth pooled in Leon’s cheeks at Carol’s drunken words and he looked to the woman on the staircase as she took another drag of her cigarette.
“Careful Carol,” she said, gesturing for Leon to come closer. “Talk like that in front of paying customers and ratings will start going down.”
Carol grumbled and hiccuped again, waving the two of them off as Leon warily made his way up the steps, trailing just behind the woman. Her hips swayed as she walked and Leon mumbled a string of curses beneath his breath as he tore his stare away to instead look at her feet.
Leon followed her down the hall, past many rooms with many sounds thundering each’s four walls, many noises he really shouldn’t be listening to. Finally, she stopped at the last door on the left, twisting the doorknob and gesturing for him to follow her inside. He drew a deep breath into his chest— this was not how he imagined this going.
Leon turned to close the door behind him and when he faced her again, she was sitting on the bed, one leg crossed over the other, the slit in her black dress falling further away from her skin. She leaned forward with one elbow against her exposed thigh, cigarette between her lips.
“So… this someone,” she spoke as smoke rolled from her lips. “Think they’ve been here?”
Leon cleared his throat and stood a little taller, dipping his chin in a nod. “Seen him walk in here with my own two eyes,” he replied. “Name’s Walter Hachett. Ring any bells?”
She pressed her lips together and casted her eyes towards the ceiling, as if deep in thought. After a pause, she shook her head. “Hardly any of the men tell us their names here, honey. Gonna have to describe him for me,” she replied, blinking up at him.
“Around six foot, brown eyes, brown hair…” Leon trailed off, scoffing at his own vague description. “He has this… this slit through his left brow…”
The woman wrinkled her brow, rolling her bottom lip between her teeth. This didn’t go unnoticed and Leon stepped forward, “sounding familiar now?”
“Yeah,” she nodded. “Think that’s the guy that paid extra to have a threesome with me and Deb the other day,” she scowled at the memory. “Real dick.”
“The other day wouldn’t have happened to be this last Thursday, would it?” Leon pressed, his heart thudding against his chest. Finally, information he could work with. She nodded in reply but her entire demeanor seemed to shift, her playful manner from before replaced with distaste.
“Yeah,” she answered quietly, reaching over to stub her cigarette on the ashtray on the nightstand. “Guess that’s your guy, huh?”
Leon’s spark of joy already seemed to dull at the sight of her so deflated, although he wasn’t sure why he cared so much. What she did for work was still illegal and despite giving him the information he’d been searching for, it didn’t change that. But Leon looked at her now and couldn’t help but feel sorry for her. Whatever memory the mention of his guy brought up, it couldn’t have been any good.
“Did he do something to you?” Leon asked and she glanced up at him, her scowl twitching, just a little bit. “I mean, something… something that’s not…”
“It doesn’t matter,” she replied, uncrossing her legs to instead cross the opposite one over the other. “You’re gonna arrest him, right?”
The lump in Leon’s throat visibly bobbed as he swallowed— he didn’t quite think he’d make it this far, if he was perfectly honest. He glanced towards the window of the bedroom, at the moon peeking just above the top of the thin, white curtains.
“Well, uh… I could, but I need more information to go off on before I can really make an arrest,” he stammered and she leaned back on her elbows, rolling her neck. “You’re a bit green, aren’t you, officer?” She asked through a smirk, her head lolled to the side as she gazed to where he still awkwardly stood. Leon’s lips opened and closed, a light pink flush across his cheeks. She chuckled, “you’re adorable. Too cute for a place like this.”
Leon blinked as she sighed, pushing herself back up into a sitting position. “Anyways, what’s in it for me if you’re gonna use me as an informant?” She questioned. “I don’t come free.”
Leon swallowed the bulge in his throat, willing his gaze to stay focused on her face. He didn’t realize how difficult it would be to talk to such a pretty woman, how hard it would be to stay focused when said woman wore a dress like that. Leon usually prided himself as being a gentleman— what was it about this girl that made him want to revolt so badly?
“I’ve got money,” he stammered, reaching for his wallet tucked away in his trouser pockets. The woman’s features softened and her bottom lip rolled into a pout, making Leon half his actions altogether. “That’s it, officer?” She asked and Leon watched, feeling a spark ignite at the pit of his belly when she uncrossed her legs, unable to tear his gaze away as she slowly spread her thighs further apart.
“You could have a taste, you know,” she purred, her dress rising further up her thighs as she bared herself to the attractive officer. Leon’s breath hitched and he shivered when his stare met her arousal, the folds of her pussy glistening as it gazed back at him, the physical embodiment of a bad idea. “Could be a treat for the both of us.”
Leon choked back a groan as his erection grew in his pants, straining against the material until it was almost painful. He should’ve known better than to fall for the siren song of a woman like her but fuck, there was something about her he felt so drawn to. Maybe that was just his raging hard-on talking for him, and he cursed, frustrated with the position he’d put himself in.
 He really shouldn’t be here.
“I…” he trailed off, drawing in a deep breath to keep his composure, willing himself to look away before he made a decision that would more than likely come back to bite him in the ass later. Not in the position he was in, anyways. “…I can’t.”
The woman sighed, closing her legs and pushing herself up from the mattress to saunter his way. Leon stiffened as she approached— just the smell of her was driving him insane. What was this woman doing to him?
“Four dollars,” she whispered near the shell of his ear, and he cocked an eyebrow at her. “Four?” He repeated and she smiled as she leaned back, eyes surging into his.
“Two for Carol, one for me, and another for my information. I never said I was cheap, officer.”
Leon cursed beneath his breath as he fished for his wallet, counting out the money.
He was never coming back here again.
Her smile widened as he pressed the dollars into her palm, spun around, and walked straight out of her bedroom.
She had a feeling she’d be seeing him again.

Comfort
Reader x Daryl Dixon
Warnings: Smut, 18+ only
A/n: This is smut but it’s like the fluffiest sappiest smut, it’s meant to be really emotionally gratifying. Also I’ve really kinda half heartedly set it up for a part 2 where they reunite with the group and Rick…let me know if you think I should continue this!
Summary: after the prison fell, you and Daryl start to mourn what you’ve lost and find comfort in each other, both emotional and physical.
————————————————————————
Tumblr media
The last couple of weeks had been such a blur. After the prison fell, you were thrown back into survival mode and all sense of security was gone. You never knew where your next meal would come from, or whether you were minutes away from death. You were grateful you’d gotten out in the company of Daryl and Beth; you’d always gotten along with both of them and Daryl was one of the most experienced survivalists. It was nice having Beth to talk to and relate to the experience as well, neither of you being natural outdoorsmen. Even if he was a grumpy ass most of the time, and she was still a bit of a bratty teenager at heart, you’d fast grown extremely reliant on both of them being around you.
You’d all found a small shack to hole up in for a couple of nights, you’d also found a stash of moonshine in the cupboard. Beth had been insistent on trying her first drink. It made you both amused and sad when you compared her experience to your teenage party years, so while Daryl disapproved you thought it was only fair to have your own little party. That’s how the three of you ended up on the living room floor, laughing your heads off.
“Really Y/N, you never been camping?!” Beth questioned incredulously.
“Yer even more a princess than I thought” scoffed Daryl.
“Yeah yeah,” you laughed, “well I suppose my whole life’s a big camping trip now.”
“Alright alright, my turn!” Daryl exclaimed. “I never… bin to a wedding”.
“You what?! Daryl that’s just sad” you said before taking a large swig of the homemade booze.
“Yeah, even I’ve been to a couple. Only other time I drank any liquor, daddy let me have a glass of champagne” said Beth.
“What part of my life was a fucking shit show before all this do you two not get” he grumbled.
You rubbed his arm, “alright we know, just teasing you” you smiled.
Beth’s giggles turned to hiccups, and she eventually lay her head down on the sofa and you realised she’d gone to sleep.
You nudged Daryl and nodded at Beth. He smiled at you, and pointed to the singular bedroom in the shack- suggesting you and he should move into the other room so as not to wake her.
The room was small; a double bed took up almost all the floor space, so you plopped yourself down on it. Daryl followed, carrying the bottle of moonshine with him. He took a sip before passing it to you, who did the same.
“She’ll be right” he gestured to the door, referring to Beth in the other room.
“I know” you replied, “we’ve all been there, she just needs to sleep it off.”
He nodded and you fell into an easy silence, both taking additional sips now and then. You grew pensive, and some of the thoughts you’d been mulling around for days started to come to the surface. The tipsy haze in your brain had your lips moving before you even knew you wanted to share what was on your mind.
“I don’t think I’ve said it,” you said, looking to Daryl, “but I’m so grateful for the two of you. The amount of times I’ve wondered what kind of state I’d be in if I was on my own…”
“Can’t be thinkin like that” he replied gently.
“I know. It’s just, it makes me mad to think about how quickly our circumstances changed. Things were so good Dar, they were finally all coming together. And then…..it’s just nothing in this world can ever really work can it?” You were rambling a little, but Daryl didn’t look like he was going to challenge you or tell you to be quiet. He just looked at you sadly.
“Do you think we’ll ever see any of them again?” You whispered to him. A tear escaped your eye and started to trickle down your cheek.
“I don’t know” he replied, and to your surprise he reached towards your face and softly wiped the tear of your cheek, “but I’m glad we’re here together too”.
He didn’t remove his hand from your face, in fact he gently cupped your chin. You leaned into it, while his head dipped closer to you and he planted a soft kiss on your lips. You closed your eyes and allowed the sweet sensation to wash over you.
When he pulled back away he looked unsure of himself, and mumbled a “sorry” to you.
You shook your head, placed your hands on his chest and leaned back toward him, kissing him more deeply this time. His tongue crept into your mouth and started to dance with yours.
Your hands drew up behind his neck as the two of you continued, and he reached for your waist, pulling you into his lap. The kiss grew needier as you straddled him; it wasn’t a need driven by pure sex and physical desire. It was like all the emotions you’d been feeling since the prison poured into your movements, and Daryl lapped them up and returned them with his own. You could’ve been hugging, or crying in each others arms, but instead you were kissing and writhing against each others bodies and it had the same cathartic effect.
You clung onto him as he pulled his lips away from yours briefly, to gently and slowly peel your dirty shirt up from your body. You allowed him to manoeuvre your arms overhead so he could take it off and toss it aside. He then reached around and unclasped your bra, and took a moment to stare at and admire the sight before him.
“You’re beautiful” he almost whispered, starting to run his hands over your breasts and grope them lightly. “I’m gonna take care of you Y/N, I promise”.
You were almost overwhelmed at this moment of pure bliss. You’d never thought there’d be anything sexual between you and Daryl. He was one of your best friends, with a bond like family. Sure he was hot. You’d notice his biceps peaking out of that winged vest and your heart might’ve quickened slightly every time you saw the way he gripped his motorbike handles. But you’d always just been friends.
Let alone the fact that you actually had a thing with his best friend. You and Rick had never defined whatever it was between you, but there was denying when he snuck into your cell nearly every night who you belonged to.
But Rick was gone. You didn’t know where, or if he was even alive, or if you’d ever see him again. It played on your mind every single day. You missed him so much more than all the others, longed for him. You were sick of it eating at you, and you just wanted to feel good for the first time in weeks.
You clawed at Daryl’s shirt, and he took a break from massaging your breasts to help you remove the black tee from his body. You pressed into him as your lips found his again and you relished the feeling of his skin against yours. It felt warm and unbelievably comforting. He began to rub circles on the small of your back and you arched into his touch.
“Daryl” you breathed against his mouth.
“What do you need baby?” He asked, pulling back and grabbing your face in both of his hands, eyes searching yours.
“You…I just need you” you said pleadingly.
Daryl shifted beneath you and lifted you up to flip you onto your back on the bed.
He slowly pulled your pants down and hovered over your torso, looking at your cotton panties. He dipped down and placed a soft kiss on your abdomen, creeping along your hip line. You hummed and wriggled at the tickling sensation, enjoying it. You felt a warmth envelop you from his touches. Then his fingers hooked into the elastic around your waist and pulled the fabric down from your body.
He ran his hand back up your leg, his eyes following the movements before he flitted them up to your face. You made eye contact and he sought the non verbal confirmation that you were okay. You bit your lip in anticipation as you gazed up at him, allowing yourself to be completely vulnerable under his touch. Now fully naked on the bed.
You gasped as his fingers found their way into your fold, and began to gently stroke around. You flinched slightly as he ran over your clit for the first time, and he placed a kiss back on your lips, then trailing down your neck. He began drawing circles around your sensitive nub at a steady but not too fast pace and he lifted his head back up to study your face again.
“So beautiful” he commented. You arched your back off the bed and moan softly. He picked up the pace a little and your pleasure increased.
“Daryl” you gasped, “I need more. I want all of you”.
He nodded, stroked your hair with his free hand before withdrawing them both to unbutton and remove his pants. You lowered your eyes and watched as he freed his sizeable cock from his underpants. You sat up and leaned forward, glancing up at him with doe eyes before attaching your lips to his member.
He groaned as you took him in your warm, wet mouth. You suckled and licked around it, playing with him while lubing him up for you. His hands found their way into your hair, loosely gripping it while you bobbed your head back and forth. He threw his head back and savoured the sensation.
After a little while you pulled away and he gently pushed your shoulder so you lay back on the bed. He braced himself over you and lined himself up, gazing down into your eyes.
“I’m so glad you’re here” he whispered, hovering outside your entrance. You nudged your head up to plant a kiss on his lips.
“Me too” you said softly.
Then he slowly thrust into you. It ached just a little on the way in, but you quickly adjusted to him. For the first time in weeks you felt whole, and human, and like you were capable of something other than simply just surviving as he sank inside you.
You tensed around him and wrapped your legs around his body, which he took as a signal to start pumping his hips in and out of you. Warmth filled your body, radiating from your core to chest at the feeling of connection and intimacy. To your surprise, tears prickled your eyes as you felt emotionally stimulated as much as physically. You squeezed your eyes shut and bit onto Daryl’s shoulder, allowing his warm skin to absorb the moan that left you.
“Don’t need to keep too quiet pretty girl” he said encouragingly. You smirked and let go, noting the love bite you’d left behind before moaning out into the room this time as his hips continued to pound into you.
He pulled out briefly and you were left feeling empty and disappointed, just for him to gently grab your thigh and push your leg back towards your face, hooked behind his arm. He pushed back in and you relished the new, deeper angle.
“Fuuuck, yesss” you hissed and he smirked down at you.
“Feels good baby?” He cooed before grind his hips in a particularly deep thrust and you nodded, moaning in reply.
He picked up the pace now and you felt the heat grow in your belly, driven more by lust at this point. Your climax was building, and it was as if Daryl could tell. He drove into you faster than before, angling his hips upwards to hit just the right spot.
“Dar! I’m gonna” you began-
“I know baby, let go” he soothed.
With an almost scream you came, it rippled through you in waves and he rode it out with you. In this moment nothing else mattered, not the situation you were in, the home you’d lost, the people you’d been seperated from. It was just bliss for a perfect moment.
As your pleasure subsided Daryl snapped his hips into a few more hard times before grunting himself and moving to pull out of you.
“Don’t!” You cried without thinking, holding his hips to yours with your small hands. You felt his dick pulsate inside you as he painted your walls with his cum. It was the last, comforting gesture you wanted to take from him tonight. The feeling of him filling you up as much he possibly could.
His sweaty forehead met yours as he stopped moving, and you felt his penis jerk inside you one last time before all was still. You panted together for a few seconds, before he slowly rolled over to lay next to you.
You felt his ejaculate trickle out of you onto the bed, and groaned at the mess, grinning at him.
He looked around and grabbed a throw blanket from the end of the bed, using it to roughly wipe up you and the linen beneath you. You both chuckled, and he tossed it aside before throwing an arm around you and pulling you towards him to lay your head on his chest.
With your head on his bare skin and listening to the sound of his heart beat and the sensation of his breath rise and fall, you closed your eyes and fell asleep. He planted once last kiss to the top of your head before doing the same.
You woke with a start to the sound of birds chirping and sunlight beginning to creep in through the window, neck stiff from the angle you slept at. You felt chilly and looked down to see goosebumps over your bare body. Not just yours, you noted the extra limbs tangled with yours and remembered the situation you were in. You smiled to yourself, knowing that the amazing night was a once off for you both.
Daryl had just started to stir at your movements on the bed, before you heard movements in the other room. A female voice groaning, before stomping quick footsteps and the sound of coughing and liquid splashing the metal sink. Beth had arisen, and was experiencing her first hangover. You almost would have giggled, except you realised you had to get dressed quick and decide how to explain the two of spending the night in a small room with one double bed.
You looked back at Daryl, now fully awake and judging by the expression on his face thinking the same thing you were.
“Well, back to reality” you whispered with a shrug.
He pulled you in for one last embrace, planting a kiss firmly to your lips before whispering back “thanks for last night beautiful”.

i. toge x fem!reader | aftermath of a confession
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
for a while it’s just the deafening silence between the two of you and the clanging noises of chopsticks on glass bowls. of course, he knows that it isn’t going to last forever even if he wonders if it will, but your lack of words definitely fails to prove that wrong.
see, the problem is this: toge’s sitting right in front of you— his dream girl, his crush of two years and all that. since the moment you first walked in the classroom and he’d caught sight of you, he’d been hopelessly and utterly smitten. perhaps it was the way you smiled at others, shy as you were; the way you laughed at his antics without fail and tried to lift people up no matter how much you struggled with doing so. it was that kindness; the type that didn’t need gestures and touches, the type that didn’t call for empathy or sympathy. just that plain kindness.
and soon after it came his love for everything else: your hair, your eyes, your skin— the way they shined in the sunlight. he was sure he wasn’t that obvious. yet he supposes that besides maki, panda and yuuta who’d already known him enough to tell, it could have been relatively easy for all the other students of the school (basically, all the first years) to notice his infatuation with you— well, save for you yourself.
he didn’t think it’d amount to anything, though. as much as it hurt to think that. not with the way his technique held him back; you needed someone who could speak to you, look after you that way. he needed you to not feel lonely. he had insistence from maki and panda that you were every bit down bad for him as he was for you, yet he still couldn’t believe them in full. despite all his jests and cheeky shenanigans, he would never consider himself bold enough to be able to confess it all to you. so why do it, when you wouldn’t be able to reciprocate in the first place?
which is why he was shocked when you bowed over, scrunched your face up in embarrassment and handed him a letter in a sealed envelope before lunch on a random tuesday, stammering that you’ve liked him for more than a year, can you please consider going out with me?, and running away before coming back just for lunch.
at least if maki and panda were here, things would be less awkward. but maki is still out training, and panda’s off to do whatever pandas do before lunch on random tuesdays.
“takana…” he starts, eyes on your crestfallen face. the only thing your eyes are on is the food you’re eating.
“…I’m sorry…” you mutter. he barely makes it out from you.
“ikura!” he says. No!
an idea strikes him then.
you cock your head to the side in confusion as he whips out his phone and his thumbs fiddle away across its keyboard.
toge’s confident now. if the two of you like each other, why not start something new? he’d love to take you out. he hands you the phone.
“‘I… like… you… too?’” you read out, squinting at the tiny font.
toge sees your heart stop, breaths caught in your throat, your cheeks warm— scratch that, you’re crying.
wait, why were you crying?!
“takana!”
“I-I’m so glad,” you sniffle,” I always liked you. I didn’t know how to say it. it was painful seeing you every day knowing how I felt, and- and thinking there wouldn’t ever be a chance you’d like me back!” you sob, burying your face in your hands as if it could hide anything, “and then when I gave the letter to you, I was so nervous, I-I should’ve stayed there or given you something you liked, but I panicked!”
nervously, he inches his hand closer to yours. your watery eyes widen. “shake sushi,” he reaffirms. the circles he rubs over the back of your hand make you feel like he’s smoothing over creased paper on your skin. yes, he likes you too, so don’t worry. don’t cry. you may be crying, but if he were a dog, his tail would be wagging so wildly regardless.
both of your hands grab one of his with shaky movements and a slew of hiccups. “I’ll try my best.”
“mentaiko.”
thank goodness.

The sound echoed in the room, unbelievable.
You fearlessly stood your ground in front of the gun, although you were shocked the bullet hit you. The shooter himself stood speechless, watching the smoke exit his abnormal gun in front of you, you weren't even the target at all. You jumped just in time, between when the guy pulled the trigger and right before the bullet hit his original target, whom was the surprised guy behind you.
Dazai Osamu, a name so dear to you. He knows exactly how to get right under your skin sometimes, and other times he knows just the ticks to start out a riot of butterflies in your stomach and make your heart flutter. After all, you couldn't forget the first time you met him.
You were standing on the edge of a building, in a sad thunderstorm. Your tears blended perfectly with the raindrops hitting your face, as the drops streamed down your cheeks and dripped over your chin. Soft hiccups and sobs exited your freezing form, as you watched the busy streets below your toe whilst holding on to the metallic rail behind your waist. Your shoulders shuddered from the cold, as you whined sadly like a puppy. You wanted to scream, but you couldn't.
"Oh my!"
You heard a deep voice from behind that made you gasp, you wanted to turn around but your foot slipped. And so did your fingers from around the rail, letting you fall.
"I gotcha!"
You felt a strong hand wrap around your gentle wrist, as the person pulled you upwards. He sat you on the rail, wrapping his other arm around your waist and pulling you further from the edge to safety.
"There, you're ok."
He said with a smile, letting go of your body and pulling his arms back shoving his hands into his pockets. You looked up to see his dark chocolate brown hair, with a pair of hazelnut brown eyes. He had a calm smile, as he had to look down at you, due to your smaller figure.
"Why'd you do that? I was going to jump either way." You murmured.
Crossing your arms and turning your head away. Only now did the silence alarm you that it stopped raining.
"I thought if we're both here for the same purpose, why not do it together? As a double suicide!" He said, joining you to look out at the buildings and the sea behind them.
"Why do you wanna die?" You looked up at him.
"Let's turn that question around, shall we? Is there really any worth to this thing we call living?" He smiled, looking down at the people who started closing their umbrellas one by one.
"There's a lot, more than you can imagine." You said, and he went silent.
"I lost mine." You murmured, with a last tear slipping down your cheek, but he heard it and stayed silent.
"Then why are you here if you think so?" He asked.
"Guess it was just a mindless moment of sadness. I'm afraid to keep going on my own." You looked down and crossed your arms.
"How about this... I'll be by your side until you find another reason to live for. And you have to prove to me, there is a reason for living." He smiled at you, stretching his hand out for you to shake.
"Deal?"
You blinked twice by the stranger's words, and shook his hand after a moment. With a bit of convincing you two left the building, and went on a walk. You learned that his name was Dazai, and he learned your name. Then you two didn't talk about each other, and none of you asked, until he stopped by a café.
"Let's get a drink, shall we?" Dazai said, making you stop and look at him for a moment.
"I insist." He smiled, opening the door and gesturing you to go inside first.
You nodded and walked in, sitting down at a random table and he sat in front of you. You didn't feel like eating, so you ended up ordering two drinks. He ordered a glass of champagne, which came within 5 minutes, but he waited for your drink to arrive, which was hot cocoa in a white mug. You grabbed it with both hands, feeling it's warmth as you stayed silent whilst starring at the liquid and the steam exiting it.
"For... " Dazai stared at his glass while thinking as he spun it around gently.
"A reason out there... that's for us to live." He held his glass up, with a smile at you.
You blinked twice, and held your mug up, slowly clicking it against his own glass.
That was your first encounter, you still had a trauma aftermath from the incident, but slowly and bit by bit you regained your cheerful personality. And a day after another, you began catching feelings for Dazai. You met regularly on the weekends, and he always took you out for candy. Just like the promise he made, he was always there for you. You learned from one of his friends, that came to pick him up once when you two were out, that Dazai was a suicidal airhead. However, he didn't try to kill himself once after he met you.
One day, you finally decided to let him know that you want to be closer to him more than just a friend.
It was a sunset, where half of the sun was hidden by the sea beside. You were wearing your favorite outfit, while he had his usual, with his coat over his shoulders without his arms being inside the sleeves. You two stood in front of each other when you asked him to meet up, and he asked what is it that you need.
"I... l-like you!" You finally stuttered it out.
A roar of wind came from behind you, and over his face as if adding an atmosphere to his shocked expression. He blinked twice averting his gaze then looked back at you.
"I like you too. We're friends, aren't we?" He rubbed his nape, almost hoping you didn't mean anything else.
"N-no... Dazai, I... I like like you. I wanna be more to you than just a friend. I- I love you." You looked at the ground, with your ever reddening face.
Dazai still had his eyes averted, he couldn't bring himself to look at you. Not in this conversation. You meant a lot to him, the day you didn't text him because you were sick and you were asleep the whole day. He came banging on your door for his life because he didn't see your smile that day. But he just couldn't bring himself to admit the fact he loved you. He thinks he only just likes your company because you're his best friend, and nothing more, but he still doubted himself sometimes. He'd wish you were his, and ask himself a lot what are you to him after all.
After a moment, he brought his hand down, shoving it in the pocket of his pants, then shook his head. He thinks you're probably just as confused as him, he's your best friend, and you probably just care about him so much you think you love him.
"I don't like you that much." He frowned at the ground, shocked at his own choice of words. Although he was wondering at the back of his head, do I?
His heart ached at how rude he said that, and his breath invisibly hitched when he looked at your shocked and hurt expression.
"I'm here to take care of you, remember? Until you find your reason to live. Till then, it's better to just stay friends." He averted his gaze again.
You stood in silence. You didn't cry, or say anything, and neither did he speak again. After a moment he walked towards you, and patted your head before passing you by.
"After that, it's better to go our own separate ways." He said, removing his hand and walking away, not calling after you and you didn't follow him.
You turned around, and watched him leave as a little tear streamed down your face but you wiped it instantly.
But I found my reason to live.
After that, things were cold for a week, mainly because you were hurt at his words, and you took time to heal up. Figuring out that there's nothing you can do, he has no feelings towards you, so beat it. Being his best friend is better than a stranger, right? Avoiding him and mourning won't fix anything. So you called him, after the so many missed calls you had from him. You apologized that you didn't pick up, and told him that you didn't want your feelings to break your friendship with him. He was more than happy to hear that, and as time passed by you went back to your happy-go-lucky aura, and the awkwardness was erased from between you two.
Which brings us now... you had to protect your reason to live, and he, who couldn't process that he did care about you that much, watched his life crumble behind him as you took the bullet. It was a frozen moment, where he just processed your position, and only the sound of your high pitched yelp snapped him back to reality.
"Ack!" You gasped, letting the blood gush out of your mouth.
The bullet hit right under your left chest area, however, the gun was unusual and so was the bullet, it was wider than any normal gun bullet, and it almost made an explosion in your internals where it hit. Blood also gushed out of your injury as the momentum of the bullet pushed you back, but Dazai caught your body before you hit the ground.
Dazai was speechless, and for the first time in a long time, he didn't know what to do. He wanted to chase away the life out of the guy's eyes, as Dazai watched you ache on his lap. But he wanted to be by your side, and take care of you, in case these really are your dying breathes.
"Stay still, I got it!" Atsushi came running after the guy as he sprinted away, and another person was heard to be calling the ambulance outside the room.
Dazai watched them leave, then he found himself strangely holding you close to him while starring at you.
"Y-you... what the hell would you do that for?!" He slightly shook you, pressing his hand against your injury to stop the blood from flowing out.
"A-aah..." You starred at his bloody hand, over your own bloody hands in fear as tears streamed down your face. Simply because of the pain, but you had no regrets.
"That's not what I need right now." You whined and turned your head away from him, referring to his yelling.
"Look at me!" Dazai said, not any less freaking out, as he pushed your head back in his direction.
"Y-you... you shouldn't go, we had a- we had a deal! Remember?!" He grabbed your shoulder tightly holding on to you, almost as if by doing so, everything will just rewind and you two won't even be here.
You let out a weak chuckle as you brought your hand all covered in blood up to his face, he didn't flinch and just looked at you. You caressed his cheek with your fingers, as they quivered to stay still against his skin, so he grabbed your hand lacing his fingers with yours, finally understanding it all.
"You really are a dork." You smiled at him, the smile he always waited at night, so impatient to see the next day, making him feel like he'll never see it again.
"Don't you see?" You huddled up to his chest, still holding his hand, as your eyes started to close.
"You were my reason to live." You winced, looking at him through half closed eyes, your smile never leaving your lips.
"I'm not scared, ok? And I have no regrets." You whispered to him, as he slowly rocked you on his lap.
Holding your head to his chest, never letting go off your hand. Soon enough, a tear by tear started going down his own face. He didn't make a sound, as he stared at you in shock and fear. You didn't break eye contact with him, and kept on your smile. Although your body grew tired, and more tired with every second.
"D-don't close your eyes... please." He whispered, his lips quivering as he stroked your cheek.
Never in his life has he ever felt so desperate.
"I'm... not sad, so please. Don't be." You smiled, your eyes now closed as you leaned on his palm.
And with that, you blacked out.
Dazai shook you gently urging you to wake you up, without being annoying, but to no vail. Emergency came rushing into the room, stripping your unconscious form away from his grip. He held onto your arm but a nurse guy held him back, to which Dazai wanted to punch him off but he didn't.
"Sir, you need to calm down!"
"I have a heart beat! It's fading."
Dazai's eyes widened just at the thought that this is it, ending his struggle against the nurse, but he got up once he was let go.
He ran after you, as you were taken to the ambulance car. He sat by your side before they closed the door, and held your hand the whole ride, hoping you'd open your eyes again. Luckily, the ride wasn't that long so you were quickly placed on to a hospital bed and pushed into the building, with nurses coming rushing to your side one by one. Dazai followed you all the way inside, until a nurse stopped him before they took you away behind a door. Dazai pushed her off, leading to more nurses and maybe even a few random passerbys to stop him.
"Just- take care of her!"
The only thing that made him stop and go silent, was right before the door closed. He saw you, giving him a thumb up with a half awake smile. You knew it was going to be ok, so maybe just maybe it will. After all, he can do nothing but just hope.
Evening sheltered over the city like a blanket, and stars appeared in the sky by turns as the dark side of the moon stood in the middle of the sky. Dazai stayed in the hospital, he lost count of the amount of hours he's been sitting here for. He never moved or changed his position, sitting down with his elbow leaning on his lap and his fingers laced together. He received a few calls, and missed most of them, until he saw Atsushi's title on the phone, of course he answered, waiting to hear whoever shot you is captured.
"Yes?" He murmured calmly, but it was obvious that deep down he was losing himself, piece by piece.
"Good." He bit his thumb, thoughtful.
"They're still not letting me see her yet." He ran his hand over his face.
"I'm not hungry." He said, almost angry.
"Yeah, ok. Bye." He hung up, without waiting for the other line to bid farewell.
He exhaled and leaned back, letting his head rest on the wall as he stretched his legs in front of him. He started thinking about the last words he heard from you.
You were my reason to live.
Again, he leaned forward letting his head rest in his hands.
"But are you sure?" He whispered to himself, although he was subconsciously asking you.
He opened his phone and starred at some pictures and videos he took with and of you. Then he remembered the time when you confessed your love for him, as he drowned his face once again in his palms.
I don't like you that much. That's what he told you even though he wondered, do I?
He groaned, almost pulling at his hair.
"Of course you do! You idiot! How have you missed it?!" He yelled practically to no one, growling silently to himself and shaking his head.
"Of course I do, I don't like you. I love you." He rubbed his temples with a hand, as he took in deep breaths.
"And... now... I'll never be able to let you know." He murmured to himself, then sighed, leaning back again.
He kept remembering many moments he had with you, many thoughts he had of you, and many reactions he had for you. How did he never notice? He missed something that was right under his nose, truly an idiot.
One time, two months after you confessed, and everything cooled down, you two were sitting in a café, laughing about something that was very dumb, random, and makes less sense than hot ice. He excused himself for a phone call, and when he came back after five minutes, he found you giggling with another guy. He enjoyed the fact you were more guarded and formal, with the guy than you were with Dazai, whilst you were laughing with Dazai more than you were laughing with the guy. But again, the guy is sitting in Dazai's place like it's his own, what the hell? After processing the situation, and walking up to you. He stood behind you, resting his elbows on your shoulders and leaning on your head as he laced his fingers together in front of your neck.
"Who's this?" He asked.
Your face took a deep shade of red, as you starred at your food.
"D-Dazai, meet Hiroshimi." You gestured to the black head with the blue orbs in front of you.
"Pleasure to meet you, com'on we have to leave." Dazai said, grabbing your wrist and pulling you out the café.
"Wait what? Dazai-" You said, as he pulled you off.
The waitress, who was already all too familiar with Dazai's in and out feelings for you, collected your own stuff with a plan to have you pay later as she didn't stop you, but as a matter of fact, wished you good luck.
"Dazai!"
Dazai was almost growling to himself, with so many thoughts, like how could he leave you? How could the guy come and sit with you? How could you accept it? Almost as if his property has been trespassed.
"Dazai!"
You called again, still simply following him without resisting, but he still didn't answer.
The angrier he got, the tighter his fingers on your wrists got. Almost as if the further you walk away from what happened, and the tighter he holds your hand, his anger will just vanish.
"Dazai, you're hurting me!"
Only then did he snap, when you winced and held his wrist to yank it away. He stopped in his tracks and after a silent moment of realization, he let go.
You looked at him with a confused frown, as you rubbed your wrist, and he watched you rub away his fingerprints from on your skin.
"What the hell was that back there? What is wrong with you?" You snapped at him, in anger and confusion.
His eyes widened in pure shock, as he got lost trying to reason what he did.
"What is wrong with me?!" He pointed at himself.
"What's wrong wrong with you?? Since when do you randomly sit with strangers?!" He snapped back.
"Dazai, that was an old friend! He was sitting with me, and even if he wasn't. Even if I didn't know him, why would you do that?!" You gestured to the café.
"You can't just... sit and laugh with random guys!" He shook his head at the ground, then looked at you.
"What the hell is up with that?! It's not your choice to make! And I'm not that type of girl either!"
Am I jealous? He wondered, as he stayed silent. It's true you're not that type of girl, but why is it that it pains him to just remember the image of you laughing with that friend. No, I just don't want her to get hurt.
"I just- don't want you to get hurt." He sighed, reasoning himself although he was still uncomfortable with the fact that this was not the all true answer.
It took you a moment to respond, because it purely didn't make any sense. There was a moment you thought and wished Dazai was jealous, but you immediately wiped it out to not get your hopes too high up.
You finally said with a sigh.
"Well thank you very much, but I can take care of myself."
Silence fell between you two, there was so much Dazai wanted to tell you but even he didn't have it cleared out, so he kept his mouth shut.
"Samu, you really shouldn't have done that." You gave another sigh, using the nickname you have for him to ease the tension.
"I'm going back." You stepped away from him, as you crossed your arms and walked back to the café.
He reached out for you, but he stopped his hand as he watched you leave. He sighed and shoved his hand back into his pocket, walking in the opposite direction.
As he remembered that, it almost felt like you walked away on him that day just because he walked away on your confession and that if he didn't, you wouldn't have walked away either, but in both times, he was the one who let you go.
"If only..." He whispered to himself as he stared at the ground.
"(Y/N) (L/N)'s guardian?"
He heard someone say, and snapped when he saw the white coat.
"How is she?" He shot up, eager but still containing himself.
"We were able to stabilize her condition to a level, however we should stay guarded." The doctor said calmly.
"She's fine, we just don't know if she'll wake up or not. Our only fear is how easy it is to have her slip away." The doctor explained, when Dazai raised an eyebrow.
"How long will it take for her to wake up at most?" Dazai asked.
"We're giving her a week and up, due to the drug we had to give her, and the already tired state she arrived in. We should start to worry within half a month or so." The doctor explained as he looked at the notebook he had in hand.
"Can I see her?" Dazai asked calmly.
"I won't recommend it but go ahead." The doctor said, not expecting Dazai to listen to him anyway.
With that Dazai rushed into your room, and the doctor walked away.
He looked at your calm peaceful form breathing on the hospital bed, your breath appearing and fading on the plastic oxygen mask as your chest got up and down. The only sound in the room was the repeated beep of the heart monitor, along with his own breathing. He observed for a moment, before making another rush to your side, grabbing your hand with both his hands gently and bringing it to his face.
"Damn it, I'm so sorry." He almost teared up as he kissed your hand.
He felt your hand barely tighten one of your fingers on his hand, but he was convinced it's just a flinch, or an illusion.
"I promise I'll make things right if you wake up. I'll wait" He whispered, mostly to himself.
And so the wait began. A full 24 hours passed by, and another day, soon enough the week was over.
Nurses repeatedly asked him to leave but he glared them off, and they couldn't use force in a patient's room. His friends and colleagues visited regularly, to check on him. Atsushi even bought him food and some coffee once.
"I got you some bento, and coffee."
He awkwardly walked in and placed the things next to Dazai, who didn't respond and just kept his head down.
"She'll wake up, make sure you're in a good health to welcome her."
He patted Dazai's hair then left, not waiting for a response, since he got used to it, but he was slightly glad to see the old bento box he bought two days ago half empty.
"Don't make her blame herself that you did this to yourself, this is no one's fault. This was going to happen either way."
And with that he closed the door behind him. Dazai blinked twice at his words then looked at you.
"Maybe if I just- let you go. This wouldn't have happened." Dazai whispered to himself, placing his palm on his face.
His thoughts rewinded to when you met Hiroshimi. Maybe if he just walked away, you would've been attached to Hiroshimi more than Dazai, and wouldn't be here. The image of you with him pained Dazai, but you in a hospital bed pained him more.
He thought it would be best and less painful if you two stay away from each other, if being separate was your destiny then it's best to stay unattached. However here you are, unattached and it still hurts like hell.
The silence was broke by your humming as your breath hitched. It immediately snapped Dazai back to reality, to see your frowning face and narrowed eyebrows. You repeatedly tilted your head softly, slowly and weakly as your hands tightened on the covers. Dazai got up to stand by your side, he gave the sped up heart monitor a glance before grabbing your hand.
"Shhhh, you're ok." He held your hand and laced his fingers with yours, placing his other hand on your head to stroke your hair.
Your hums turned into low groans, as you let your head tilt in his direction.
"Saa.mu.." You whispered tiredly, struggling to open your eyes or say the words.
"Hey." He kissed your hand while stroking your bangs repeatedly.
"Hi." Your voice was much weaker and drier, as you struggled to even smile.
"How are you feeling?" He smiled.
"I feel shot, man." You whispered with a tired smirk, blinking slowly.
He barely chuckled and shook his head, barely biting his lip to hold back a tear but he failed and it slipped down his cheek.
"God damnit..." He hovered over you, picking your head up and your torso into an embrace.
He had an arm wrapped around you on your back, while he picked your head up to hug you properly without having you give any effort to hoist yourself up.
It took you a moment to realize this, but you eventually wrapped your heavy arms around him, you laid them on his back to be more accurate, but you still returned the embrace as you leaned on his shoulder.
"Don't do this to me ever again." He whispered.
"I mean... if you're gonna hug me like this, I can take a bullet-" You said, but he cut you off.
"I'll hug you all you want!" He pulled back to look at you, making you blush.
"Just- don't- please..." He murmured, lowering his head to press his forehead against yours as he stroked your cheeks, some tears streaming down his cheek.
"Osamu?" You whispered, cupping his face to dry his tears using your thumbs.
"I'm sorry, (Y/N)... I'm so sorry. I thought that it would be easier and less painful for the both of us if I just stay away. I wanted you to be happy, and I was scared." He whispered, as he looked at you again.
"I never thought I cared this much, and I never thought it would hurt this much." He stroked your cheek with a hand and stroked your hair with the other.
"If it's gonna hurt either way, then it's better to be with you. I'm sorry I never realized it earlier, but I love you. I really do. I always have, and I'm sorry I never told you before, but I'm telling you now." He said.
"I love you to the point I want to spend my life, and after life with you. There is a reason for living, and my reason is you. I love you to the point you make me happy I never got a chance to kill myself." He murmured, and that line pissed you off, but this is Dazai, for the love of god, how else will he express his love?
It was silent for a moment, with your cheeks on a shade of red and the heart monitor was sped up more than normal.
"I... love you too, Osamu. I always did, and still will." You smiled softly.
His lips barely curved into a smile as he grabbed your head and slowly planted his lips on yours. You once again laid your arms on his back and neck, letting him hold you as you kissed back.
Meanwhile outside the room, Atsushi was pointing a gun to the doctor, as a sweat drop streamed down his cheek.
"I'm so sorry, sir. I can't let you go in right now." He said.
The doctor starred at the boy, covering his face with the notepad, as the boy turned to his friend.
"Did he make a move yet?" He asked.
"Wait.... oh my god, oh my god, they're kissing!!" The friend cheered in a whisper as he was peeking through the ajar curtains of the room's window.
"Yes!" Atsushi said.
"I fucking hate my job." The doctor murmured as he walked away.

hiii! request for kaz x reader where she’s super drunk and he has to help her get home. they end up spending the night together. love ur work!!!!
This took a bit of a turn… your warning would be grief and a bit of sadness. Looks like that’s today’s theme.
I’ll sit with you
All Kaz wanted was a calm night. He had too much to do. Too much to look over. And all of it wasn’t gonna get done unless he concentrated. But the universe had other plans because not even an hour later after he had sat down his door was opened by a worried-looking Inej.
“We might have a problem”, she muttered, looking at him worriedly. “What is it this time?”, Kaz grunted, “Can’t you all just figure some stuff on your own?” Inej frowned but just shook her head, “It’s Y/n”. And that was enough to make a shiver run down Kaz’s body. All of the worst scenarios flashed through his mind.
“She’s alive just…”, as if reading Kaz’s thoughts Inej added, “Just so fucking drunk”. Kaz ran his damp hands over his pants, “So, walk her home”, he gritted his teeth. He hated it when you got the hold of your alcohol consumption. It happened rarely. But… his eyes darted to the calendar on his desk. Today was marked in a red bubble. Your sister’s death date. Mentally cursing himself for letting it slip Kaz stood over reaching for his cane. Inez looked at him as if seeing a spectacle. “What?”, Kaz practically growled. “I didn’t think you would actually… go to her”, her voice was barely a whisper. “Yeah, me neither but look at me now”, he gestured to himself before pushing past her.
Kaz was at least glad that you had chosen one of his bars to get wasted at. He had people there. Even more so that meant that his crows were there. So at least someone kept an eye on you. But what he didn’t expect was to see Jesper holding onto a ladder shouting towards the ceiling. Well, until he looked up himself and there you were. Curled on the wooden beam. Face radish and splotchy.
“Move”, Kaz jabbed his cane into Jesper’s back, climbing the first couple steps of the ladder. “Care to explain?”, he looked straight at you. Trying to keep his worrying at bay for now. “No”, you muttered, sad eyes burning through him. “How many of my bottles did you down, huh?”, even if his legs screamed at him, he still climbed higher. You glanced to the side, looking at the table below, “Two maybe”.
Kaz hummed, “The good kind?”, pulling himself up. “With the waxed top”, you muttered, licking your lips, eyes growing hazy. Kaz nodded trying to keep his balance as he inched closer to you, “Very well, at least you have a good taste”. You chuckled lightly, pushing to get up but miscalculating your balance. Nearly tipping over the edge. Gasps from below filled the bar. But Kaz already had his arms around you.
“Have I told you that I hate that you climb things like a lunatic?”, Kaz sighed, making sure you both were steady on your feet. “Once or twice”, you hiccuped, quickly covering your mouth. Kaz gave you a tight smile. Reaching his arm out, he pulled you closer, “Come here”, the warmth of his filled all of the broken pieces of your heart. As you clung to him as if he was a lifeline. “It’s okay, I got you”, he muttered against your hair. “I’m sorry”, you whimpered, feeling your eyes fill up with tears. “I understand. We both lost people we loved. I will never hold that against you”, you moved to look up at him. Watching him for a heartbeat before nodding your head. “Come on, I’ll sit with you for a bit and then we will go home”, Kaz muttered, before helping you to sit down. “And you bunch get lost”, he gestured to the rest of the crows looking up at you two.

Fyodor's Drunk Lover.
(7th post woohoo! Fyodor Dostoevsky x reader. Very wholesome trust me :))
Tumblr media
Your boyfriend has been observing you for a while as your intoxicated state is increasing with each and every drink that Nikolai is generously offering you. You keep slurring over your words, getting hiccups even. He grabbed your arm to prevent you to take another glass of alcohol before speaking up. “Dear, I think you should slow down on your alcohol.” Without knowing how drunk you are to forget he's your boyfriend, you thought he was a stranger and not your boyfriend. “But Nikolai is generously giving me drinks, it won't hurt to drink more riiiight stranger?” You slurred and whined over your words, blinking at Fyodor in a dumbfounded and slight confused manner. In your perspective he's appearing more of a caring stranger rather then the reality of him being a worried lover. He looked at you with a concerned expression, sighing a bit as he spoke* "But dear, you're already drunk." He smiled at your innocent face, seeing you as a vulnerable, easily distracted little bird. Which meant he'll have to guard you extra carefully, to prevent you to get yourself hurt. "Would you like some water as a substitute?"
He offered as a solution. “But water is not alcohol..” You whined at this worried 'stranger' who's almost as concerned to a lover may be. The fact that he's patient enough to deal with a drunk lover while getting called a stranger is impressive. He chuckled softly and shook his head. "I know, but you really should drink water. You've taken a couple drinks already." He gave you a slightly reassuring smile, trying to keep the conversation lighthearted while still being persistent. "Here, I'll get you one- it's cold." With that, he let go of your arm and immediately ordered a bottle of water for you. You hesitantly gazed at his gesture of being persistent on getting you drink water. I mean, ofcourse it appears weird in your point of view he's a stranger rather than the reality of him being your boyfriend. But hey, that's what being drunk does to you apparently.. “If my boyfriend were to see you acting all too nice to me I'd think you're doomed.” You whimpered as you blinked at him. How funny that you remember having a boyfriend but not realizing your boyfriend is the 'stranger' infront of you right this moment. An amused expression crossed his face at your statement, amused by your drunk self who didn't even recognize him as your boyfriend. He wondered if the other people in the bar would think he's your boyfriend or just a stranger. In the end, he just chose to play with the misunderstanding, smiling at you. "Ah, then I guess I should be afraid now. Since your boyfriend must be very handsome and intimidatingly tall, right?" He asked playfully, leaning a bit close to you and smiling wide. Getting the chance to talk about your lover, you started beaming a grin like a fool on love as your cheeks may have heaten up too.
“He's taller than me and he's very attractive,” You placed your elbows on the counter as your hands were resting on your cheeks. As if you were daydreaming about him. “He's really caring..and he's gentle..and, he's everything!” His amused expression turned into a playful one as he continued to tease you, even amused by how intoxicated you seemed at the moment. "He sounds almost too good to be true, huh?"
He chuckled.
He noticed how your cheeks seemed to heaten up, making you look more precious than ever before. "Does your boyfriend kiss you too? Perhaps hold and hug you a lot? Maybe even caress your soft cheeks?"
He asked teasingly, enjoying this moment. “He likes showering me with kisses, may it be on my lips or neck..well everywhere! I like how he holds me everytime I always get to snuggle him..” You continued and continued to gush over him as he continued to ask those silly questions about himself. Despite this drunken state you're in, it's so evident you're basically head over heels for Fyodor. Fyodor seemed to be getting more amused the more you continued to gush over him, especially in such a drunken state. He chuckled as he enjoyed this fun teasing game he was playing with you in. He also found this moment adorable. "Wow, it seems to me your boyfriend has a very handsome face paired with the gentleness and kindness of an angel." He commented with a smile, teasing you as if he wasn't the one you were raving about the whole time. “Mmmhm! I love him.” You beamed another happy smile as you were lowkey daydreaming about him, although the intoxicated state you're in it's just...amusing for Fyodor to see and watch his lover forget he's their boyfriend and kept referring to him as a stranger. You being in this drunken state is certainly amusing for Fyodor, and with each and every innocent statement you speak about him, he seems to continue to enjoy this fun game of teasing you while intoxicated. The more he played the game, the more amused he became. "It sure is adorable how much you love him."
He commented with a teasing tone, knowing full well that the 'him' you were talking about is actually him. “Mmmn...I miss him.” You slightly whined as you nodded to his statement, after a little while of gushing over him it seems it went into a turn when mentioning you missed him. ...Even by the fact the person you miss is right infront of you. His teasing smile slowly turned into a concerned one as he witnessed your sudden change of mood. You were talking about him as if you've missed him all this time, even though he was right infront of you. You even started to whine as if he was gone for a long time, like some sort of lost child. "But...I'm right here, dear." Fyodor spoke up, trying to snap you out of it. “How can you prove you're my Fedya?” You huffed ever so slightly as my cheeks puffed up and gazed at him with a slight frown. Calling Fyodor as 'Fedya' was one way to say it's a nickname. It appears that you're still not quite sober enough to recognize him. Fyodor looked at you as you called him 'Fedya.' Your drunken eyes might not be able to notice it, but that name seemed to make his heart skip a beat and melt a few times. He hummed a little, trying to come up with a way to convince you he's your 'Fedya' but also wanted to make the game more fun. "Well...how about this?"
He approached a small bit closer to you and leaned over your shoulders, planting kisses all over your neck. You blinked in surprise and your cheeks heaten up in an instant. Feeling surprised and flustered over the sudden action of him proving he's your boyfriend, which is quite evident enough at the moment. “Only Fyodor kisses me like thi—” Oh. “Fedya!” You exclaimed in a happy tone upon recognition, finally. You hugged him into an embrace. Fyodor chuckled softly as he heard your sudden realization. It made for a good game. He felt your arms wrap around him as you held onto him tightly, squeezing him into a warm embrace as you also realized he's your boyfriend. Your drunkenness seemed to have subsided as your senses kick in again, now realizing you're drunk. "I'm here, dear."
He hugged you tightly in a reassurance, smiling brightly as you were finally back to your senses, finally realizing he's actually your boyfriend. “I missed youuuu..” You whined and nuzzled your head against his chest upon finally realizing he's your beloved. Letting him wrap you into such a comfortable embrace which, you're doing the same to him.
He chuckled softly as you nuzzled against his chest, hugging tightly while he wrapped you into his arms. He's happy to see you back to your senses, even if you were just intoxicated. In his eyes, you'll always be the cute and adorable little bird he fell in love with. "I'm here, love."
Fyodor then lifted you up slightly, taking in some of your body weight like you're a small little bird. He'll have to make sure that his lover stays safe.

Whispers echoed the streets as you made your way back towards the saloon, and you could feel the stares from the last remaining spectators from the crowd earlier. Your eyes scanned the different faces, desperate to find someone you knew. Someone who could help. You spotted Birdie leading Bunny back into the saloon, a look of concern on the teacher’s face as she placed a steadying hand on the back of the saloon girl.
You made a beeline towards the saloon, almost running into a couple of people in the process, but you didn’t care. The only thing that mattered in that moment was freeing Jake, and if you couldn’t find the Daggers, then Bunny and Birdie would surely have an idea. Pushing through the saloon doors, your eyes immediately landed on the bar where the two girls sat, Birdie stroking a hand up and down Bunny’s back in a soothing gesture. You marched to where they stood, and Birdie looked over at you when you were just a few feet away.
“Scout,” she breathed, tears kissing her lash line as she stared at you. “Oh, honey. I’m so sorry.”
“Where are they?” You asked her, mouth pressed into a firm line to keep from falling apart completely. It wouldn’t serve you to sit around and mope about the situation. You had to take action, and you knew that the boys were already working on a plan to free Jake. “What happened?”
Birdie looked at you hesitantly, hand still on Bunny’s back. “I don’t know. They took off in the middle of everything. I think Jake used himself as a diversion or something, I’m not sure. Those men came in here and started saying such awful things to Bunny, and then Bob overheard, and, and everything just happened so fast, Scout. It was chaos.”
You nodded, letting out a frustrated breath.
“It’s my fault,” Bunny whispered, picking up her head from where she hung it over her arms. She looked at you with lost, far away eyes, and the sight sent a stab through your heart. “I’m sorry, Scout. This is all my fault.”
“Bunny, no,” Birdie chided, but the other girl shook her head.
“No,” she hiccuped. “I should have never come here. If I hadn’t left New Orleans, none of this would be happening.”
“It’s not your fault,” you muttered. “None of this is your fault. This was a setup from the start, and it was all due to that bastard Isaac.”
“Isaac?” Birdie asked you, eyes still weary. “Who is that?”
“He’s a real sonofabitch,” Bunny murmured, gaze still focused on you. “He comes in here from time to time. He’s got a really bad energy about him.”
“He set this whole thing up,” you scowled. “The remarks, the fight, the arrest. It was all his doing. I’m sure of it.”
“Surely you can tell Sherrif Kazansky about it,” Birdie smiled, hope beginning to shine in her eyes. “You can tell him, and he’ll have to let Jake go!”
“It’s not that simple, Birdie,” you sighed, causing the other girl’s smile to fall. “Marshal Simpson has been itching to get his hands on the Daggers since he got here. It’s the whole reason he came to Maverick in the first place, actually. He’s not going to let Jake go unless I give him a good reason. No, I need to find the other boys and figure out what their plan is to get him out. I can help with that.”
“They’ll probably be lying low until tonight,” Bunny murmured, looking up to lock eyes with you, face set in her usual stoicism. “You’re best bet is to go by Maverick and Penny’s after sunset. They’ll be there.”
You nodded at her, turning to walk away when Birdie caught your arm, forcing you to look back.
“What are you going to do in the meantime, Scout?” She asked, a worried frown on her lips.
“I’m going to go see my brother.”
Tumblr media
“Surely there must be something you can do, Benji,” you pleaded, pacing around your brother’s office. He eyed you from where he sat, leaned back in his chair as he regarded you. He watched you pace across the carpet, and you were sure you looked a sight at this point. The ends of your skirts were muddy from running around earlier that morning, and you knew your hair had come out of your neatly tied bun, as you could feel the loose strands kissing your neck.
“Scout,” Benjamin sighed. “Take a seat.”
You shook your head vigorously, casting him a look of displeasure. “There’s no time to sit, Benji. Time is something we don’t have, and I’m wasting it just standing around waiting!”
“Scout-”
“Who knows how long they’ll keep him alive for? You have to represent him in his trial. I’m not asking, Benji. I’m begging you, please do-”
“Scout,” he snapped, leaning forward and pressing the heel of his hands into his eyes. Benji always did that when he was preparing to deliver bad news, and you stopped your pacing, heart dropping. He looked back up at you, and you pursed your lips. His eyes were sad, like he knew his next words might break you. “Jake isn’t getting a trial.”
“What do you mean?” You demanded, facing him fully now. Your brow was pinched, mind refusing to make sense of what he was telling you.
“Just that,” he sighed. “Jake isn’t getting a trial. There will be no jury. There will be no judge. His death warrant has already been signed.”
You shook your head, fighting back tears as rage overtook you.
“They can’t do that,” you reasoned, moving forward, placing your hands on his desk as you leaned into him. “There has to be a trial.”
“There won’t be,” Benjamin frowned. “Marshal Simpson was sent here to get rid of the Daggers. Even if there was a trial, it would be a show one at best. Unless someone has a plan to break him out, then Jake stays in jail. There’s nothing else I can do.”
“I thought law and order meant something in this world,” you muttered, feeling the tears sting your eyes once again as you stood up and turned.
“It does, Scout,” Benjamin said gently. “But law and order mean different things to different agendas.”
You glanced back at him, and you once again noted the sadness that his eyes held.
“Go home, Scout,” he sighed. “Get some rest. You’ll need it.”

The sun had just slipped below the horizon when you stepped out from your hiding spot behind Hondo’s store. Most of the people were milling about in front of the saloon or the brothel, but a few drunken stragglers stumbled down the street, laughing and cheering as they made their way. You stuck to the shadows, taking care not to be seen by anyone as your eyes stayed glued to the door of the jail. It was only a few moments before you saw Beau Simpson step foot out the door, shrugging his jacket on as he made his way down to the saloon. His lips were pursed into a frown as he sauntered over towards the saloon. You waited with bated breath as he slipped past some of the drunken patrons, only letting it loose when he stepped through the swinging doors.
You kept your head down as you hurried down the street, doing your best to hide your face in the shadows. Light streamed out from the windows of the jail, illuminating your face as you stepped up to the door. The door creaked on its hinges as you pushed it open, Sheriff Kazansky looking over at you from where he sat in one of the chairs, feet propped up on the desk in front of him. He raised an eyebrow at you, looking you over. There was a hint of wonder and mischief in his eyes, a slow smirk coming to rest on his face.
“You shouldn’t be here, darlin’,” he drawled, placing his feet on the floor. “This ain’t no place for a lady such as yourself.”
“Where is he?” You asked him, stepping into the room and quickly closing the door behind you.
“Scout?”
You peered behind the sherif and into the shadows at the familiar voice. You saw a figure shift in one of the cells, and you began to rush towards it. Tom stopped you, standing quickly to block your path and placing his hands on your shoulders. You looked at him, brow furrowed, but all you saw was worry and curiosity swirling in his eyes.
“Are you sure you’re ready to see him like this?” He asked you quietly, lips pressing into a thin line as he continued to study you. You squared your shoulders back, lifting your chin defiantly.
“Please,” you murmured, feeling your bottom lip tremble slightly as you pleaded with the older man. “Please let me see him.”
Tom stared at you for a moment longer before glancing at the door.
“You have five minutes, Scout.”
You smiled at him gratefully, turning and making your way back towards the shadows that housed the cells.
Jake was on the floor, leaned up against the far wall facing the bars of the cell. His clothes were ruffled and his hair was mussed, lips pulled into a thin line and eyes were contemplative. When he saw you, he scrambled to his feet, the chains surrounding his wrists and ankles jingling with every movement.
You felt the tears come back with a vengeance as the dam you had built to keep from breaking down all day began to overflow. A sob racked through you, the tears now flowing freely as you all but threw yourself against the cold metal bars. Jake caught you as best he could, the two of you slowly easing down onto your knees. You cried into his arms, feeling your copious amounts of tears staining his shirt as he stroked your hair.
“Please don’t cry, Scout,” he soothed, pressing firm kisses to the top of your head. “Everything is okay.”
“It’s not okay,” you sobbed. “It’s not, so don’t tell me that it is.”
“These things happen, honey girl,” he sighed, holding you tighter, seemingly afraid to let you go. You reveled in how his strong arms felt around you, making you feel like your whole world wasn’t ending in that moment. “You wanna tell me what you’re doing here?”
You pulled back to look at him, tears still running down your face, but having slowed to a trickle at this point. “It was Isaac, Jake. It was all a setup. I saw him in the crowd this morning. He planned the whole thing.”
“I know.”
You balked, brow furrowing as you looked at him.
“What do you mean?” You asked, voice barely above a whisper. Jake sighed again, resting his forehead against one of the bars.
“I saw him too.”
“We have to do something, Jake! We have to tell them that this was-” You cried, turning to move away, but Jake grabbed your hand to stop you. You turned back to him, noticing for the first time that his eyes were shining with tears of his own. Your heart dropped at the sight, and you allowed him to pull you back down, his hands cradling your face as he looked at you.
“There’s no time, pretty girl,” he murmured. “There’s just no time left.”
“Don’t say that,” you whispered, tears starting anew.
“Scout, these past few months have been the happiest of my life. I never thought I’d meet a spitfire like you, let alone get someone like you to love me. I have loved every minute spent with you. I love the way you scrunch your nose when you’re mad. I love when you yell at me when I’m being an idiot. I love when you smile at me when you think I’m not lookin’. I love how you feel in my arms and how completely happy you make me feel.”
“Why does this sound like you’re saying goodbye?” You asked him, a sob shaking your entire body. “You’re not dying on me. If you die, I die, you understand me?”
Jake smiled at you sadly, moving his hands down to dig through his pocket. He raised his shackled hands back up, this time holding onto a golden chain. A small, round pendant hung at the bottom, golden bands intricately woven with small diamond embedded into it.
“I know that it’s not the emerald,” he started, “but it’s all I could afford with the money I had leftover from working at the ranch.”
You stared at the necklace, a thousand different thoughts running through your head. It was the most beautiful piece of jewelry you had ever seen, made even more so by the honest man who offered it to you. More tears streamed down your cheeks, and you shook your head.
“I don’t want it,” you murmured.
Jakes face dropped, eyes questioning as he looked at you.
“Jake Seresin,” you said firmly, fixing him with your best scowl. “You promised to make an honest woman out of me, and I’ll be damned if I let you worm your way out of keeping that promise, do you hear me?”
Jake let out a startled chuckle, dropping his head to rest on his forearms before looking back up at you with a bemused expression.
“Honey girl, what on earth am I supposed to do with this necklace now?”
“You can give it to me when you get out of here,” you sniffed, eyes tracing over the lines on his face. “You can give it to me, and then you and I are going to grow old together.”
Jake said nothing, all humor leaving his face as he watched you. Before either of you could say anything more, Tom cleared his throat from where he hovered in the doorway, and you glanced back at him.
“Your time is up, Scout,” he said quietly, gently. “The marshal will be back any moment.”
You nodded, looking back at Jake, cupping his cheek and leaning in to press a desperate kiss to his lips. He kissed you back with urgency, reluctantly pulling away, and helping you stand through the bars. You watched as a tear slipped down his cheek, and you reached up to brush it away. He caught your hand, holding it to his face before turning and placing a firm kiss to your palm.
“I’ll see you on the other side, honey girl,” he rasped, letting go of you and stepping back. You didn’t move, and it took Sheriff Kazansky gently grabbing your elbow and pulling you into the other room for you to leave. You scrubbed at your eyes furiously, jumping when the door opened, revealing U.S. Marshal Simpson.
He blinked at you in surprise before his eyes darted over to where Tom was once again sitting at his desk, looking like he had never moved in the first place. Beau shrugged his jacket off and hung his hat on the hook by the door, eyeing you wearily.
“Miss,” he greeted with a nod. “What brings you by?”
Your mind scrambled, trying to find any excuse.
“Poor thing had her purse stolen,” Tom spoke up, shaking his head in disappointment. “Must have happened sometime this morning during all the excitement. It’s a damn shame when a young woman can’t even walk the streets in broad daylight without someone stealin’ from her, wouldn’t you agree?”
Beau hummed, moving to sit in the seat opposite Tom. You grimaced, nodding in agreement.
“Yes,” you sighed, “It had something very valuable to me.”
“Well, we’ll keep an eye out for it,” Tom smiled, nodding towards the door. “Are you gonna be okay by yourself out there?”
“Oh yes,” you nodded, turning to leave. You had to get to the Daggers, and they would surely be at Maverick and Penny’s home by now. “I’ll be just fine. I really appreciate all of your he-”
You stopped as your eyes caught sight of one of the many missing posters hanging on the wall. A familiar face stared back at you, black eyes just as cold and lifeless as they were in person. Isaac.
“Are you alright there, Scout?” Beau asked you, moving like he was going to get up. You glanced back and put on your best smile.
“Yes! Sorry, I just remembered a place I forgot to check for my purse. I’ll have to go there and let you know if I find it.”
As you moved for the door, you heard their last exchange.
“When do you want to do this, Beau?”
“Don’t hang’em til noon, Tom. That gives us time to get everything sorted out.”
Your breath caught in your throat. That wasn’t a lot of time for you to get everything sorted. You gathered your skirts and broke out into a run once you hit the street.

Maverick and Penny’s home was lit up, casting a faint glow out onto the dirt road as you walked up. You could hear muffled chatter coming from inside, and it cut off when you knocked on the door. A moment passed before Penny hesitantly cracked it open, sighing in relief when she saw it was you. She opened the door all the way and quickly gestured you to walk in.
“It’s alright,” she called out ahead of you. “It’s just Scout.”
The two of you entered the parlor where the rest of the Daggers, plus Birdie, Bunny, Natasha, and Maverick all sat scattered around. Birdie rushed to you, enveloping you into a tight hug. You reciprocated, glancing over her shoulder to see Natasha finishing up some of Reuben’s stitches above his eyebrow.
“I really wish you had come found me earlier,” you heard her mutter to him. “This is going to leave a nasty scar now.”
“Well, when the best doctor in town works in the middle of everything, it’s hard to sneak in and out,” he countered with a grimace as she cut the thread.
Maverick looked at you, face melancholic as his eyes met yours. “What brings you by Scout?”
You shifted your attention from him to Bradley, who was leaning against one of the end tables at the far side of the room.
“What’s the plan, Bradshaw?” You asked him, stepping forward. He glanced up at you, brown eyes unreadable as he pressed his lips into a thin line.
“What plan?”
“The plan to get Jake out of trouble,” you pressed, fists clenching at your sides. Bradley lifted his head, a look of indifference passing over his face as he looked away. You felt your jaw tick as you watched him.
“Oh, that,” he drawled, eyes still avoiding yours. He shrugged. “There is none.”
“I beg your pardon?” You bit out, rage overtaking you, and you felt Penny place a soothing hand on your back. “What do you mean you don’t have a plan?”
“I mean just what I said,” he snapped at you, eyes now focused on you with a mix of anger and guilt. “You think I have any favors to call in? Shit, Scout. Even Mav and Ice don’t have anymore favors to use on us. There’s no plan because there’s nothing to be done.”
“You owe him,” you ground out, words dissolving into a sob as you felt the tears race down your face once again. “You have to help him, please.”
“I don’t have any chips left to play, sweetheart,” he growled in frustration, running a hand through his hair. “Jake hangs tomorrow, and there’s nothing any of us can do about it. I hope your time with him was good while it lasted because-”
A smack resounded in the room, followed by deafening silence save for your labored breathing as you fought to control your breathing. Your hand stung from where it had connected with Bradley’s cheek, and you could see his eyes had widened in shock. His head had snapped to the side from the force of your slap, and he slowly turned to look at you, and you could see unshed tears shining brightly in the low light of the room.
“He is not going to die,” you sobbed. Your breaths came out in hard pants as you stumbled forward, clinging on to Bradley’s shirt as you gazed up at him. “He can’t die. You have to help him, please.”
You felt a gentle touch slowly pull you away from the brunette, and you collapsed onto your knees before him, hands grabbing on to any part of him you could reach as you well and truly broke down.
“Please,” you begged once more to no one in particular. “Please, someone help him.”
